Maybe, and this is just me, but cos that part of the world has been exposed to viruses like this for years and years, perhaps their immune systems are just more used to dealing with them?

Like when Europeans travelled all round the world centuries ago, one thing they all did was wipe out indiginous populations with a common cold.

Its kinda the same thing.
Just guessing but probably a combination of a lot of things, at least for Singapore
1) the immigrant workers involved in the outbreak being comparatively young
2) the strict quarantine and regular testing meaning far less subsequent spread to more vulnerable groups
3) early monitoring/hospitalization resulting in fast supportive care (fluids, oxygen, proning etc) and meds as soon as there was deterioration

All ends up they are better prepared to deal with this, cos they are used to them.

Just my idle speculation if that extends to a more robust immune system in the population. The logic is there, no idea if the science follows that mind.

The (compared to this country) ridiculous level of provision of quality social housing will probably have had an effect as well - both in terms of preventing people living in overcrowded conditions of poverty, and by allowing the state to have a much better idea of where people are (and an incentive for those people to follow instructions).

:D

FFS Dave, there's nothing 'cold war' about suggesting it would have helped if the government of the country that the virus originated in would have helped if they had been more open about it.
What relevance has that got to combatting the here and now of infections?

It happened. All virus start somewhere. Even western nations.

May be, I’m not making any predictions just know a lot of gigs have been rescheduled for theand the people I know in the industry are hoping they can get back to work in that timescale.

Outdoor and in limited numbers and with mandatory face masks would be the only half way safe events.

Alternativley, this government allows a free for all again and we pay the price later.

I’ll make sure I pass on your concerns.

If the majority of the country have been vaccinated and those vaccines are ok with other variants of the virus then a version of normality will be here a lot quicker than you think.
