Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

There wasn't a second wave for well over a month either, even after all the eat out to help out stuff.

The very start of the second wave happened to coincide with schools and unis (imo the main one in terms of people taking stuff from one area of the nation to another) going back and the weather starting to turn in late September/early October.

Every graph shows rates of infection pretty flat from June through to late September
I don't understand why teachers aren't being vaccinated yet. Wouldn't be difficult to get them done fairly quickly. Send a vat of the stuff to each school and get the school nurse to administer it.

In the ideal world, yes, as the potential for this to happen again is magnified by their existence - nature bites back.

In the real world, it won’t happen for a whole host of reasons, poverty and culture being the main ones.

Its exotic wild animals which are meant to be banned which will be causing the issue.

Wet markets are used all over the globe, in the majority of cases it will be probably more healthy and nutrious than the caged crap we eat in this country.

I don’t know mate.

China have just created the worlds first multi story pig farm - seriously

Twelve storeys, each floor housing up to 1300 pigs.

They seemingly haven’t or are unwilling to learn any lessons from SARS or Covid.

You're obsessed with China. Why is that?

You were commenting on my point concerning over reliance on vaccines (obliquely, of course, as is your want). I merely responded, Sonny Jim.

I didn’t quote you because talking to you is tedious, you refuse to answer direct questions and take discussions off on random tangents (and making up lies about what others have said) as you’ve just proven once again.

We can go back to talking about how Covid is a hoax again, if you’d like to play that game.

Well they are if they're clinically vulnerable.

They've decided to do it by age/vulnerability unless you're a frontline NHS worker haven't they.

I agree with you it'd be good to see teachers then get priority but the aim is to have everyone over 50 offered their first dose by late May and at this rate they're on target to beat that by nearly a month. But the rate of new vaccinations will likely slow down once more people start getting their second dose (that'll start up really around early March).

Do we get rid of wet markets all over the world??

No, just ban fun.

But yes, in an ideal world, get rid of them, but as @COYBL25 says, I know that's not going to happen.

But also in the real world, expecting the west to completely change its ways shouldn't be a thing either. Expecting a gig venue to be able to survive on social-distancing etc isn't realistic.

I'd like to think resources in the world's second-larges economy could be put towards preventing stuff like this, though?

We aren't talking about somewhere in Somalia or Mozambique here. I'm aware 100s of millions of people in China are probably very poor, but it's an extremely advanced nation.

Crikey, will you listen to yourself. You quoted and start engaging with me, not the other way around.

You’ve posted in this thread thousands of times, if you didn’t spend all day posting in here it would be much easier to avoid you.
