Sounds grim

It's all relative isn't it. The country lived through communism for 40 years, so shortages of food is something they're used to. The world hasn't ended by any means, I just think the government could have been calmer and less knee jerk in their response. As @Diogenes the Cynic can attest, Chris Witty is the man. We should all be more Witty.

Thanks mate

I’m not looking to argue with anyone. I’m not trying to pick a fight. I wasn’t meaning to be a spoilt brat about a festival going. Like I said it’s work and a bit of fun gone - but no it’s not the end of the world and isn’t surprising.

Yes I am worried and Honestly atm the last thing on my mind is actually getting ill from this thing. It’s everything else around it

Its completely understandable mate, you weren't talking about being denied getting a slab of beer and spacing out for the weekend, while that is always nice, you are talking about your livelihood, how you will pay for accommodation, bills, food, etc. Its all understandable stuff to be stressed about.

Suddenly something that was there is taken away, through no fault of your own after much work and the building of your profile (at the moment) seems wasted.

Who wouldn't feel, helpless, angry frustrated, worried and fearful.

A lot of people will be feeling this way, we need to acknowledge, validate and support as much possible people on here, who are concerned about material loss and subsequent, understandable mental health impact of that.

Peoples lives have changed fundamentally in a week, a wave has hit and shattered normality and the tide has left worry, fear, frustration, stress etc. Its massive in my opinion and i would say you are alone on here in how you are feeling.

If you are up and dressed and thinking of doing things today mate, thats a positive. Remember all the work and skill you did and used to get were you have got to, thats not going anywhere when this all lifts and hopefully in the days ahead you can be reassured with measures that will be forthcoming materially. Most governments seem to be bending this way.

I hope here becomes a place where people can come on and share some of their concerns, that they are acknowledged and validated and they have a bit fun, light relief and feel a bit of support - people care!

Chester has got 18 doctors in self isolation. Not one of these have been tested to see if they have actually got it or not. If they haven't got it then that's 2 weeks off work, then if they do get it, another 2 weeks off work. Start testing health staff you absolute balloons!!
Health staff are still being tested if the show signs of infection.

@COYBL25
Nah sorry not a scooby ,nurse /typist must be self isolating

Sorry, but I think we`ve lost @Joey66 for good this time.

It`s a combination of cabin fever from self isolating, the fear of getting shot by @Bruce Wayne is he steps outside for a breath of fresh air and the world wide shortage of Dyson parts due to panic buying at scrap yards that`s finally done him in.

Yep I’m disciplined. Like I said, gonna go the gym (if it’s quiet) - have applied for work this morning. Doing what I can do.

I’ve got enough to get me through the next six weeks. It’s after that that I’m concerned about. But suppose I’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

In response to your first red point, yes I know. I mean in general. When there isn’t a pandemic. But you don't forsee a pandemic so where's the middle ground?

second point - if our systems were better prepared then the world wouldn’t be in such a panic. They're panicking because we don't have a cure and that's not our healthcare's problem.

while this is of course unprecedented, it doesn’t mean there isn’t a bit of both factors in the systems of prevention and then treatment not being the best they can be mate

and on the healthy point (this isn’t directed at people with underlying issues of course, or illness or the elderly) - well it really should be. If a pandemic isn’t enough to wake people up then God forbid what we need

yep he sounded very calm and collected
I’ll admit the stuff I’ve lost my head about isn’t actually the virus. Probably wrong of me that my priorities are elsewhere.

I’ve been just a lot less concerned about what it can do than the indirect consequences, is all. And cause I’ve listened to calm experts about the virus itself is why I think some of these measures have been ott, even if they’re the right thing to do really

You know, I know it's completely moronic to even suggest but something like Steam or the Playstation store could do a world of good by having a global shut-in sale going on right now to help people pass the time. Theres only so much a person can do inside without losing their mind. Hell, Im even contemplating talking with my wife it's getting that desperate!
Things ain't that bad mate.
