Yes but we are in an era where already a vaccine has been used and successful with mice it's just the timescale of getting it ready for human consumption, then massive biological factories to produce it worldwide.......live in hope everyone......

I think everyone is expecting it including the Chinese government. But possibly because they are everyone is still doing things like washing their hands, staying home when they have a cough, getting tested etc which is keeping it manageable.
Thing is you would say children in primary schools are much more likely to spread the virus. If they want to seriously stop the spread then difficult decisions will need to be made that will not be great for the economy.

Okay so I’m kinda getting on board with the herd immunity idea, BUT is there actual evidence to suggest we would become immune after we all get infected?

For it to work there needs to be a whole lot of trust people ensure the vulnerable are safe and from this thread alone I’m not sure people can be trusted.

I’m extremely sceptical of the claims of a vaccine nearing readiness, as there’s never been a vaccine successfully developed for any COVID virus, including SARRS that they’ve been trying to conquer for years now.

As bad as his conduct during the election was, this latest behaviour of his is one of the biggest betrayals of journalistic standards it is possible to imagine.
For a start nowhere does he mention that this is a radical change from the plan of last Thursday night, which was after all a mere two days ago.
Secondly, he claims that "army hospitals" will be used. There aren't any.

They havn't really taken the brakes off yet. It looks like their plan is to slowly release the brakes and then deal with new outbreaks as they already have, and keep on rinsing and repeating until anti-virals and/or vaccines are available.
To be fair, it's not a bad plan, helped a bit by having a population which is used to doing what they're told to, but still a decent plan. France, Spain and Greece have already shown the difficulties of implementing such a plan in Europe, though, as the deaths continue to rise, people will be more amenable to doing what they're told.

There are some scary news popping up of incidents with younger people. In France today, of the 300 corona virus patients that are in critical condition, half of them are under 50 years of age. (NY Times)

The more I read about who’s steering this policy i.e. the so called nudge group of behavioural scientists, the more I worry.
Then there’s the fact that we’re currently swimming against the tide of global scientific decisions so far, then there’s the 229 scientists who’ve written to No.10 today to express their sever concern at the strategy and urging release of the modelling being used.
Who to trust....Dom and his cabal of whackos or the global scientific community?
