There's something really odd about that part. I've never seen someone write PS at the end of a news article. As bad as his conduct during the election was, this latest behaviour of his is one of the biggest betrayals of journalistic standards it is possible to imagine.
For a start nowhere does he mention that this is a radical change from the plan of last Thursday night, which was after all a mere two days ago.
Secondly, he claims that "army hospitals" will be used. There aren't any.

This is far more dangerous, and infectious than those as bad as they are ......I have the flu vaccination every year, and if my family go down with the flu - I tend to only catch a very minor dose of them in my experience.......I’m extremely sceptical of the claims of a vaccine nearing readiness, as there’s never been a vaccine successfully developed for any COVID virus, including SARRS that they’ve been trying to conquer for years now.

You should have read it first mate.
It’s staff used for services deployments based at an existing NHS hospital, not an Army hospital. It's still a services hospital though. Just because it just sits inside a bigger NHS establishment doesn't alter that fact. In the grand scheme of things , the 600 or so health professionals employed by RDCM won't make a massive difference, but it seems a bit weird to say there's no army hospital when there plainly is.
I did, they moved it there from Gosport ages ago, something I vaguely remembered but had to google to check.
The way I understand it, and I may be well off, but herd immunity should be thought of more as a phenomenon that can occurr in certain conditions. There is no guarantee that it will.Okay so I’m kinda getting on board with the herd immunity idea, BUT is there actual evidence to suggest we would become immune after we all get infected?
From what I’ve been reading, this thing isn’t gonna just vanish so do we just bite the bullet while protecting the vulnerable?
That doesn’t really fill me with confidenceThe way I understand it, and I may be well off, but herd immunity should be thought of more as a phenomenon that can occurr in certain conditions. There is no guarantee that it will.
Nor me.That doesn’t really fill me with confidence

I ultimately think every strategy leads down the same inevitable road - most people will get it, most survive and unfortunately some dont like most cases of illness.
Essentially the only alternative is complete lockdowns lasting months if not years which would result in economic chaos and thousands homeless without hand sanitizers.

I did.
