This quarantine fine thing is just a way of letting the rich travel and forcing the less well off to stay stuck at home. Fines never work as a deterrent cos they have no impact on the wealthy. Typical Tory approach again.

Telling someone they're right to be cautious in a pandemic is helpful to no one. Thanks for your 'scientific' input.
That's hardly what I said.

If, for example, someone thinks that injecting bleach is the right thing to do as a belts and braces approach, would you expect someone to tell them it isn't and possibly prevent them causing harm to themselves and others or do you praise their caution and tell them to carry on?

How has the reporting of this pandemic been ‘favourable’ towards the government ? What is the U.K. doing that is different to Spain, France, Italy, or that goes against the advice of every ‘reputable‘ scientist. I can accept that the country was certainly not prepared for this, but that blame I would lay at the feet of May’s government, the Civil Service, PHE and the NHS......

zzzz

Of course you would.

Get your head out your arse.

You are completely detached from any form of reality.

What?!

Are you equating someone telling others they are right to remain cautious with someone telling others to inject themselves with bleach?

Yeah I fully accept that mate. But neither were you on here in January and February calling them out for not doing this and that. Nobody was, either in here, in Parliament or in the media.

History will show that the government failed badly in handling this virus. But all I'm saying is that nobody was saying they were failing at the time, and that it's very easy to be critical when you have the benefit of hindsight.

Indeed. But that was before everyone was gifted with 20/20 hindsight. We are all wise after the event.....

No, as I hope you are aware - as although there doesn't seem to be any depths you won't sink to save face - you seem reasonably intelligent. I'm equating one example of mistaken caution vs another and suggesting that giving people advice that can cause harm but done with the best of intentions is commendable but still mistaken.
