Then you would have been rewarded and your mind been placed at rest a long time ago on that score if you'd just read all the exchanges in this thread concerning the issue instead of diving in halfway through.
It was reading through the exchange, and you diving in midway through with this intervention that prompted me to comment.
This is just 'edgy' commentary.

Being cautious and going for a belt and braces approach to all you do is the only logical thing anyone can and should do.

It's this type of idiocy that causes a massive secong wave.
My commentary was to provide clarification and the scientific advice. To be blunt, telling someone they are correct in an approach that provides absolutely no benefit in preventing the spread of infection is helpful to no-one.

seems someone actually managed to convince him to wear one

In January, no one quite believed it could be bad, February, I was sick as a dog tbf, early March I called out considering herd immunity for the hair brained idea it was, and had criticised the Liverpool match going ahead. I've been critical of the lack of testing, the failure to obtain PPE. This was before lockdown, not in hindsight, and GOT isn't the only place to post about Corona.
It is bizarre that so many on this forum cannot comprehend that people may not want to, be able to or be bothered to post things that they may be associated with in their daily lives.

Almost anyone working in health or EPRR in January was worried and making preparations. They were communicating with Government and through national NHSE channels about the challenges and gaps; about the lack of equipment; about the lack of capacity; about procurement and supply chain. Most of it fell on deaf ears.

'kinell. What's going on in Barrow?. They're just as isolated as we are down here, miles from anywhere. I think Nymz needs to be lending some of his gloves to his mates lol.

I hadn't realised these antibody tests had been so widely done.
Shipyards. They build nuclear submarines there. It draws people in from all over.

Yeah I fully accept that mate. But neither were you on here in January and February calling them out for not doing this and that. Nobody was, either in here, in Parliament or in the media.

History will show that the government failed badly in handling this virus. But all I'm saying is that nobody was saying they were failing at the time, and that it's very easy to be critical when you have the benefit of hindsight.
Pretty sure a lot were saying that testing was poor throughout Feb and as soon as the China WHO report came out (late Feb) it was clear that hospitals and care homes needed to be very vigilant about making sure the virus did not get in.

The government are not supposed to be a know nothing tedious whopper on the internet like me, they are supposed to be geo-political experts with the most up to date information that allows them to be briefed on situations that we are not, saying they should be held to different standards to a football forum is not unreasonable

Not an expert on American politics but from what I can tell the Democrats seem to be trying their hardest to put the weakest possible candidate they can up against Trump. Biden seems like he's suffering from the early stages of dementia. Not sure what they're thinking really. I thought letting Hilary Clinton run was a big enough mistake and they seem to be getting it just as badly wrong this time.

Wouldn't suprise me if Trump got in again despite making a pigs ears of the whole pandemic.
I can say as an independent american, for a long time both parties have been busy throwing their weakest candidates up against eachother. Its pretty sad when you have 1000 friends, and you look at the candidates and realize the worst of them would still be better than either option. Clinton was scary, Trump a psychopath and an idiot, and Biden a crazy person and an idiot. You couldnt make this stuff up.

Indirectly its the parties faults(directly its the idiot voters), they've for decades just been obsessed with whipping their bases into hatred fueled frenzies towards the other side. What that leads to is ironically what they DONT want, their voters choosing the most extreme, insane candidates that fuel that hatred when a random junior middle of the road senator would easily win.

Imagine standing in election winning it and be expected to manage the country, it's totally unreasonable. We should know our place.. ;)

It's a joke, an ABSOLUTE joke that they're only now putting into place measures that should have been introduced when I was calling for them way back in January. How much damage has their ineptitude caused? If a complete novice like me could see what needed to be done, why couldn't they? It's now far too late. The damage has already been done. #crapgovernment
