well they did for main things like Drs, Hospitals etc but general day to day stuff they provided general guidance for people to follow. But has it’s grown and it’s putting more pressure on the health service and potentially business, so now the guidance is to reduce social contact.

Its standard contingency planning, it’s got to a point that now requires further intervention. Telling every from day 1 to not go out would have caused even worse panic than now.

Mate, do you believe cancer kills people? Because it starts out small and insignificant. If you believe early detection and treatment saves lives in cancer then why not believe this. The math is the same.

Or do you believe in investing for the future? It can all be done last minute right? No need for all this “start investing early” lark, it’s just scaremongering from financial advisors trying to sell a product. The math is the same.

How does any of what he / they proposed today do that, though? Even the "stay at home for a week" advice isn't likely to be followed when people (a) need the money and (b) see people like Raab not doing it.

businesses have BCP’s, they’re being activated now. Home working is being rolled out, where allowed, across the country

you can’t say the government aren’t doing anything then say it’s people who are to blame for not following advice.

option C is to bring in the military and make sure it’s followed

I'd rather trust the advice of the CMO and his team than others.

I hope you are right mate but their advice isn't being kept secret by the UK government. Ireland and Denmark are privy to the same advice and they are making different decisions, probably based on their own advice, which isn't coming from Lucas Digne, and will be coming from equally qualified professionals.

I think part of the thinking behind closing all the schools is that you also take a large % of parents out of daily circulation.

Plus it's most likely that the people looking after them would most likely be the grandparents, who are the most vulnerable.

no, I attended a meeting today and they’ve reduced the estimation from 80% to 70%. But not all people will have the symptoms that are making people bed bound, some could just get a head cold type symptoms

It’s just important they self isolate and reduce contact completely.
