Is it a really stupid question to wonder how on earth so many are getting this virus in the first place, after weeks of lock down?

It’s a great question.

The answer is probably due to the stupid arse holes who continue to flout the lockdown!

Folks are still going to stores for food. Essential workers are often still in close quarters.

Patel reporting that shoplifting is down this year compared to the same period last year.

I take all criticism back. What a great job on crime the Tories are doing. When’s their national round of applause?

I can assure you it's not down at all.
We just can't be arsed reporting most of it anymore because it doesn't get investigated unless violence is used usually. Your on hold to 101 for 45 mins easy.
Even during social distancing etc this week our store has had loads of theft / attempted theft.
This will only get worse once people's money starts running out soon too.

Its ludicrous that we are only 2 weeks away from lockdown being over and the Government have mentioned nothing of what will be happening next.

Absolutely crazy.

Not really, they don’t want the current lockdown undermined. We already have millions of idiots swanning around, talk of exiting just emboldens them. Businesses will be ready and we all have a decent idea of what needs to be done and the order in which businesses will reopen....we just need to be patient and wait for the word.....

I honestly cant see lockdown being lifted mate. Think I'll be you can visit family/friends but thats yer lot for another 2-3 weeks.

Over here though, in my experience, folk are being really good at social distancing. Shop workers are being superb, and folk are making an effort to give them space as well.

My Dad’s heart surgery looks like it is being scheduled for within the next fortnight.

This is in the south of Spain which hasn’t been as hard hit are the north but think there is growing recognition of the impacts on other health issues.

Best wishes to your Dad and the whole family mate. Be keeping my fingers crossed for him!

France also has announced a reduction in lockdown conditions from May 11th.
On condition that the rate of infection continues to decrease.
Also washable masks will be made available and will have to be used in public places and on transport.

I have read that UK government does not think masks a good idea ( Cummings interpretation of science?), or is it that procurement services have forgotten to order any?

If wearing masks does little or nothing to prevent the spread of the virus, why does every doctor/nurse in hospitals treating COVID-19 have one on when you see photos etc. of them?
If the public were told that masks were a way of reducing transfer of the virus the system would be over-whelmed and the NHS and care home would suffer. I suspect the government know they have zero chance of obtaining anywhere near enough masks so it is better to pretend we don't need them.

Right from the beginning of this I reckoned I would just go along with what the medics said. Now that is easy for me to say because some of my family actually live with me and we have no financial incentives or requirements for lifting the lockdown as many others have. My wife misses her customers and I miss going the pub and seeing my mates. If it’s weeks or months we will still just do what the medics say and make the best of it I suppose.....

Doctors and nurses need them because they are in constant contact with people who are ill with all kinds of different virus's, the best thing for normal people to do is wash your hands and try not to touch your eyes, nose and mouth especially when out in public or the shops
