I’m not having a go but I’m genuinely gonna need a hand with that joe . What does he suggest ? Even a clue might help .
Blair suggested some restaurants should open as he was bored with his wife's cooking
I am not saying that he did ,just what @Joey66 is saying
Having said that joey has a vested interest in restaurants re opening as he holds about 90% of the worlds chickpea supplies and will make a fortune selling them to restaurants for chickpea curries etc

....my daughter still hasn’t got a protective mask that has passed a ‘fit test’. She was talking to another young surgeon who has recovered from the virus and he was saying it was a dreadful experience, seemingly worst of a nigh.

Some patients seem to be getting better but then deteriorate extremely quickly and die. Delirium is a common factor, an awful illness to go through.
It's not good Eggs. But presumably the masks come in a variety of fixed sizes. Everybody's faces are individual in shape and size and I suppose it's inevitable that the standard masks won't fit everybody.

The alternative is to have them fitted and maybe that is something to consider for the future. But the logistics of doing that in the current crisis when they're struggling to keep on top of standard supply doesn't seem feasible

Maybe the answer in the short term is to withdraw those health workers who can't find suitable protection from the highest risk environment.

Face masks can easily be adjusted.

We aren't living in 1918, there is no excuse for not being able to report the deaths from this virus accurately, but if you choose as a Government to omit deaths from care homes where the most vulnerable people are to this virus, then your death reports are null and void, no point just giving hospital deaths, unless you want to make things seem better than they are to avoid criticism.

All deaths are recorded on databases, reasons for death are recorded on death certificates in those databases.

Wake up to what the Government are doing, it's a scandal.

I’m not blind to what the government are doing and am the last person to make any excuses for them, however I also have some knowledge of ONS and other gov stats production. If you’re looking for a single, confirmed number, agreed by all, you’re not going to get it.

What I don't really understand is why this thing has resulted in such an uprising in nationalism. Germany had a test developed as early as January, yet many other nations, including Britain and the US, decided to develop their own test instead. While there is an element of logic to that so that you avoid buying dodgy stuff, as the Spanish did with the test from Bioeasy, it does obviously add a delay to proceedings. This delay also meant that the global market for the raw materials for testing hotted up. Germany has a strong industry in both biotech and chemicals, so would be arguably the main manufacturer of these raw materials in Europe, which again perhaps explains why they are so far ahead of Britain.

It's also arguable that the Robert Koch Institute is better suited to this kind of task than Public Health England. As was explained recently on NPR ()

“We have a culture here in Germany that is not supporting a centralized diagnostic system. So Germany does not have a public health laboratory that would restrict other labs from doing the tests.”

And yet the posters on here who would use Germany as an example to beat up our own government would be the first to go apoplectic if it was suggested that we actually adopt a German like model......

But surely the point is that we are doing almost no testing let alone having competition in testing. If PHE is a useless quango serving to line the pockets of tory donors rather than search for and create medical breakthroughs then it needs disbanding.

And yet they are still building more Nightingale units.

If the ICU isnt overloaded and we are meant to be over the peak, why are they STILL building new Units?

Murderous scum, as a wise man once said.

Probably because most people picking up the virus are in hospital! Get all the COVID19 patients to a seperate hospital and stop the spread.

It's hardly rocket science. Cab we all knock off the murderers crap. Mistakes may have been made, but None of them are murderers

So care home deaths double what was reported and false all clear on tests now as well.

BTW Ireland had some false all clear results as well about 2 weeks ago.

That's not quite right mate. Figures haven't been falsely reported. What they are saying is that deaths for the period 11-14 April are double the latest reported care homes deaths which were up to 10 April.

Figures are still very scary though. It appears that the effect of the virus within care homes is lagging behind hospitals by maybe 2 weeks which means the worst may still be to come sadly. Let's hope it peaked over that Easter weekend
