And neither do you!
I am not saying he didn't test positive but some peoples symptoms are nothing more than a cold and I think that is what happened here. He used his mild symptoms of the virus to disappear from public view and will re-appear when it's all over singing the praises of the very people he intends to sell down the river to big US pharma, when employees will be given poorer and poorer contracts in return for a one off payment of a paltry sum, reduced investment and crap working conditions........ tis the way of things private.

All we know is he ended up in intensive care.

So, unless all the doctors and nurses are lying, and the police, and everyone in the PM's entourage who would be aware of it as a lie, and there are somehow no leaks, we can only assume he was ill enough to end up in intensive care.

You can say that without excusing him or the government of being crap.

We aren't living in 1918, there is no excuse for not being able to report the deaths from this virus accurately, but if you choose as a Government to omit deaths from care homes where the most vulnerable people are to this virus, then your death reports are null and void, no point just giving hospital deaths, unless you want to make things seem better than they are to avoid criticism.

All deaths are recorded on databases, reasons for death are recorded on death certificates in those databases.

Wake up to what the Government are doing, it's a scandal.
They've done exaclty the same with their ICU 'boast' - that it hasn't been overwhelmed...that's because they're making the NHS shove a lot of very sick people straight onto wards.

They are liars.

You don't know how sick he was. All we know is he was in intensive care.

You're proposing that all the doctors and nurses in the ward will have not come out about that if he wasn't ill?

I agree with you on the balls up but he and the government aren't escaping scrutiny. There's loads of scrutiny. Stop with the conspiracy theories.

It's half of the reason we have these charlatans in to begin with - all Labour supporters have done for the last five years is cry media conspiracy. It's boring.

The media's focus - right now it seems - is to keep causing more panic and hysteria. If anything, that is fuelling scrutiny on the government.

Nearly every news page I've viewed on the net the Government are getting hammered to death (and rightly so) so as you say Toff, they aren't escaping scrutiny.

But nearly every government is also twisting figures in one way or the other (purposefully or not).

My point on the confirmed case rate being much, much higher than the official figures show is that it means the mortality rate - even if the deaths are much higher than the official figures show - is probably lower overall.

There's no chance an illness which 80% of people who test positive will have had very mild symptoms at the most has a mortality rate of 10-15%.

....my daughter still hasn’t got a protective mask that has passed a ‘fit test’. She was talking to another young surgeon who has recovered from the virus and he was saying it was a dreadful experience, seemingly worst of a nigh.

Some patients seem to be getting better but then deteriorate extremely quickly and die. Delirium is a common factor, an awful illness to go through.
Fingers crossed and a huge amount of gratitude to your daughter and her colleagues. You must be feeling a unique mix of pride and fear for her, stay strong mate, I'm sure she knows what she is doing

News just broke out all the M motorway roads particularly down south more traffic on them early am today - a guess is the self employed are skint and are going back to work ....?
Then a USA guy on Facebook preach Covid 19 is a hoax and how he was persuading other people to go about their daily lives normally has just died.........of Covid 19...

What a crass way of blaming the self-employed. More LBC rot.

Yeah agree. I’m guessing you didn’t take the advance loan like most people as you’d be getting even less.
The problem has been that the discussion on benefits has become focussed on ‘benefit scroungers’ to make them an easy target for cuts and vilification. Instead the focus should be that they are a primarily a safety net for exactly these sorts of situations.
A lot of people have had their eyes opened by being put into a similar situation as yourself. Be interesting to see if any changes in public perception come of it.
I would say it’s very difficult to keep and maintain a vehicle if your sole income is universal credit and if you’re living alone you’re in a fair amount of trouble.
Spot on mate....perhaps Channel 5 will reign in their documentaries like "benefits street".....it is a miniscule amount of folk on benefits who defraud the system compared to the amount of tax and NI evasion and fraud. As you say, it may well change some people's perspective. Hope so

They are liars.

And yet they are still building more Nightingale units.

If the ICU isnt overloaded and we are meant to be over the peak, why are they STILL building new Units?

Murderous scum, as a wise man once said.

Looking like we are the worst in Europe at dealing with this, that's a disgrace.

No wonder the Govt are fudging figures, some serious flack coming their way for this, they won't be able to keep the Wolf from the door for ever, Starmer won't allow that to happen, the truth will out.

Starmer couldnt find the truth if it had a neon light saying truth here.

Hes 1 of them.

If you read my post you'd see I agree with you that he had the virus. Where we differ is to what extent.
If he did have it albeit mildly, then doctors and nurses and his entourage wouldn't be lying either would they. You might think "well he wouldn't sink so low as to do that"..........well I think he would. The man is an inveterate liar.

Care providers in Wales are being forced to use personal protective equipment (PPE) of such poor quality it “looks like they are out of a Christmas cracker," a union has said.

Unison Cymru said employers were going to “shocking lengths” to equip workers.

It said: “One worker’s photograph shows goggles they have been given to assemble which look like they are out of a Christmas cracker".

It said another worker had sent it a photograph of home-made hand santiser in drinking bottles provided by the employer.

Some care workers had reported being expected to re-use PPE, with at least one example of someone being advised to keep their single-use face mask in a zip-locked sandwich bag for use on their next shift, it said."

What a 'kin shambles. "5th largest economy in the world" they boasted during Brexit.
