Are people that have been employed elsewhere for many years or built up a new business too good to work in supermarkets? If you're unemployed you should take any job if you're desperate for the cash. The same way I tell anyone I know if they lose their job to immediately sign on.

Like are you strapped for cash? Would you turn down a steady job at ASDA?
That may be so Nymz, but that doesn't stop them being devastated by losing their business. Have a bit of empathy mate. I think that's all Toff was saying.

Yeah they have to deal with it and get on with their lives, but at the same time they may have lost everything they own, and quite possibly mortgaged their house to raise fund the business. These people deserve our support the same as those that lose loved ones to the virus.

RIP.

That is a worry, the death rate has quadrupled in a week.

More worryingly, these 621 deaths would be from new cases over two ago or before new cases this day two weeks ago were 665 and before in the 100's. New cases this week have gone over 4000 on some days.

Not to be cold or clinical about the horrendous loss of life above, but its becoming very clear the UK need to really do more with testing and contact tracing, they dont have their arms around this at all. Really need to be put pressure on the government around testing and contact tracing infrastructure.

The strange thing is in these circumstances is that as long as everyone understands what needs to be done, then pressure needs to be taken away and not applied. More pressure from the top and elsewhere just ties people up justifying what they are doing, writing more and more reports on progress and generally tying up the organisation. Clarity of requirements, clarity of instruction and trust in those that need to do the job are required. Too much pressure usually ends up with failed micromanagement.......

Tbf its the polices own fault - if you start locking down every local park or field/exercise area people will start flocking out further afield.

I noticed the place I go was a bit busier this morning but I know full well thats because two "local parks" have near enough been fully shut off despite most of the time I have been there in the week being very quiet and people walking the correct distance apart therefore those same folk are now walking their dogs and running around my little place.

The police and busybodies cant have their cake and eat it otherwise lock us down with army on the streets.

Makes more sense to lockdown play areas that kids congregate on but keep local green space open therefore less places get swamped.

London however is a different country all together.
Lived there many years up to a decade ago, as the police say it's a normal day when the weather is fine...

A relatively avoidable one, too. If the Government hadn't sat on its hands for two months the lockdown might not have needed to be brought in to the extent that it has been.

Can you show how the government ‘sat on its hands’ for two months.....thanks.....

All those people out and about in parks and sunbathing seem to be in and around London the worst hit area. If they're going to bring in more measures thats where they should be brought in .In the northwest everyone seems to be following the rules don't even see any teenagers hanging around .The chance of sunbathing would be a fine thing no sun all weekend.
