It's going to be an absolute nightmare for the police this weekend. The idiots in this country have proven that they can't follow instructions as simple as 'stay indoors for the safety of yourself and others'. How thick do you have to be when self-preservation doesn't play a part in your decision making?! If the idiots sitting in the parks and the beaches had been around during WW2 they'd be refusing to put the blackouts up on the grounds of "I haven't got an issue with the Germans, why would they want to bomb my house!". Its times like this that expose the truly selfish and ignorant among us.

'People need to learn how to endure harder times'

People are losing their jobs and businesses. Estimated 1/5 small businesses (each which will likely employ other people) will not make it through this. Those estimates are conservative.
A lot of people don't get it yet.

When we come out the other end of this, there will be considerably more people affected financially than through loss of loved ones. Some will be affected by both. But this is much, much more than a medical nightmare.

RIP.

That is a worry, the death rate has quadrupled in a week.

More worryingly, these 621 deaths would be from new cases over two ago or before new cases this day two weeks ago were 665 and before in the 100's. New cases this week have gone over 4000 on some days.

Not to be cold or clinical about the horrendous loss of life above, but its becoming very clear the UK need to really do more with testing and contact tracing, they dont have their arms around this at all. Really need to be put pressure on the government around testing and contact tracing infrastructure.

I was watching BBC news before and they had a diary of a person who runs a care home. Not sure if it'll be on the main update at 4pm but it was rather sad. If one of the residents has it then they've been told that person will be discharged back to the care home, despite the devastation that is likely to cause.

Yeh and I do think that's fine to point out while also acknowledging right now the focus has to be on saving lives/protecting the NHS etc by following the lockdown.

Interesting initiative from Ron Dennis et al. Oddly enough F1 in the UK have a very close working relationship with NHS research teams already

the amount of medical knowledge that has come out of motorsports (especially bike racing) is both remarkable and very sad
