City getting clapped off yesterday

Sickening when we are clapping these rats off, all energy should be out into letting the board know what we thing of sam
As an older blue the 1969/70 team often got clapped off the field at full time at away games - City outclassed us yesterday - the board need to note that we want a team before a new ground!

I've certainly seen us set up badly before but no pressing, no tackling, no energy, absolutely nothing. The fact that it was a record possession for an away team in the Premier League speaks volumes.
You're right mate. But it's one of those isn't it. It was an absolute footballing lesson, but how much was down to our ineptness and how much to City's brilliance will always be a matter of conjecture.

Oh they were very good but honestly I was embarrassed at our performance. In my opinion i've seen better performances from United and Arsenal at Goodison given how pathetic we were yesterday.

That's why I prefer watching our younger teams than the first XI these days. They pass and move, and you can see that in the kids when they first come into the seniors. Then it get's coached out of them as safety first becomes the order of the day.
Its an inferior complex ingrained into them when they face certain teams, the problem is this happening right through the club. This "expected loss" shout from boardroom level says everything really. If they don't shrug off this mentality soon we will be heading for the PL trap door..

Not sure of his conclusion on manager, but something for the debate in terms of style:

..I appreciate the sentiment regarding style but ultimately we want to compete with the best and be successful. Such teams tend to play attractive football but there’s more than one way to skin a cat. I suppose the moot point is the likes of Mourinho, whose teams are not always easy on the eye but are effective. I doubt anybody would complain how we won a Champions League.

Football has changed. How many of Europe's best teams play a style where they prefer to sit deep, concede territory and possssion, and try to steal a goal on the break or from a set play.

Maybe United. That's literally it. Allardyce and the other merry go round British managers are anachronisms of a bygone era. I wish we would move with the times.

If we wanted to go that pressing route then bring in one of the managers associated with Leipzig: Schmidt who's out in China or their current boss, Hasenhuttl.
I’ll bow to your greater knowledge, we have to get the next appointment right but really don’t know who will give the right balance of results and entertainment. Whilst agreeing to join the shower we have become!

We all accept mediocrity, from the fan base to the owners to the manager to the pundits.

Rival fans think we’re pointless. Our own fans get carried away by signings like Schneiderlin and other dross from Man U (Rooney).

Until our whole approach and philosophy changes, we’ll always be a nothing club.

Sick of Everton, not even bothered anymore.
Shocked to see you come back when we've lost a game.

..to be fair, Allardyce hardly has the resources to play with a high line. The purchase of Keane makes it suicidal to push the back four up. We are all agreed, it illustrates a complete lack of strategy over recent times. As much as I agree about managerial change, we can’t blame Allardyce for the state of the squad.
