Current Affairs China and its treatment of minorities

Is the Hong Kong situation relevant to China's treatment of minorities? Yes it is.

I linked an article from a Washington based journal, 'The Diplomat', above. It provides a discussion (with sources) of US funding of right wing groups in Hong Kong who have hijacked the genuine and peaceful protests of Hong Kong citizens in order to use it as cover for their own racially and culturally prejudiced purposes.

My point: we could do with more viewpoints on the issue of CCP assaults on its own population, but you dont seem to want that context, and I wonder why.
Ah, so you are xenophobic, that explains a little bit at least.

Though the love for the CCP will take a little more explanation...

He has no love for the CCP. He has continuously stated this throughout the thread.
Oh, he stated that he didnt love the CCP, he just likes them a little, that certainly makes everything super okay! Especially if you ignore everything else he says that indicates something other than that because he "says" so.

Im in Philippines. Theres literally ZERO correlation here to China and its treatment of minorities.

In fact, the only link is that they are both investing, and invading the philippines through both legal (and illegal) means.

How long have you lived here for?

I know the Phillipinees has a small but given its size substancal ethnic chinese population but was not talking about treatment of minorities

The mainland Chinese have also invaded over the past 4 years. Both legally and illegally entering the country.

Crime has increased, plenty of murders, kidnappings, rape incidents by mainlanders which is quite shocking as its really peaceful here and you never hear about any crime.

Compared to London, Asian cities are very safe ordinarily. But the Chinese are becoming a big problem all over...now fighting with India, HKers...and they are embedded in Thailand and here now.

Something needs to be done

I visited Papua New Guinea a few years back. Up in the remote high lands. The 'shops' (aka tin shacks with security bars) were all owned by Chinese. The locals hated them.

They are not alone. Almost the entire south east Asia region feels the same someway or another.

The Chinese mafia has destroyed fantastic beauty spots in Cambodia and Thailand, such as Sihanoukville. Whilst the respective governments are warm to them, no national of those two countries I've met are fond. 'Bastards' seems to be the most common word to describe them when I raise the topic of 'fantastic' Chinese investment with locals.

If you watch the norwegian series OCCUPIED then thats what the locals in Manila feel is happening to them.

I'd like to thank Dodgy Dave for calling out my use of the word 'mafia'. I realise that this is unacceptable.

I will instead refer to those Chinese criminals who are taking advantage of Cambodia's lax laws on money laundering, to become the most criminally active foreigners in Cambodia, as 'triads'.
