Bilyaletdinov - OUT

I dont think he's "lazy" just like I dont think Yak is "lazy". I just think there's a difference between a player who grafts and puts in a shift up and down the pitch, and ones that are intelligent but dont put the high level of work rate into their game.

Everton and its fans want to see a hard working grafter over a fancy dan who can do a few step overs and 30 yard screamers. And that suits our system more.

If you have 11 players who run, hustle and tackle all afternoon you'll never be any better than a Birmingham or a Fulham. You have to accommodate players with the class to change a game. The Yak has never had the best of stamina. Rather than chasing down every lost cause he conserves his energy for bursts of speed over short distances. Bily is similar in that he looks to come alive in the final third. I agree that he does need to impose himself more on games. At the moment he's a bit of a last resort in the hope that he pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

Thought yesterday was probably his most complete performance for us in quite a while, lasted the whole 90, nothing really spectacular about his play but he was running alot, tackling, passing some pretty sweet balls too (there was a one-two with the Yak that was nearly pulled off that was sensational).

He's not coming out saying he wants to leave like a few others we know, he won't be on big wages, he's a good lad to have around.

Has hardly played and when he has he's been stranded out wide in an under performing and labouring team. People expect too much too quickly from players these days, I'd like to see him get a consistent run of 5 or 6 games and judge him then. If he's not looked any good after that then I'll agree with the consensus but at the minute I'm still undecided on the lad.

Up and down first season and this season is a non-event thus far but I still think it's early days.

People need to get their head around that he's a luxury player, not a work horse. He'll score 10 Worldy's a season for you but he's not going to cover every blade of grass. A lot of teams have these players, we're just not used to them at Everton.

this fella has me scratchin my head ....did lot of runnin yesterday but on the ball just wasnt happy bout his contribution to the game for us

He is a natural central player, that with the right players around him will be a cracking play maker. We have Arteta to do this, and he will not get a crack in his natural position.

He could probably cut it given the run, but we have not got the full squad to allow him to do that.

I recieved the new Everton Direct brochure thru the door the other day. I was flicking through the latest attire and couldn't help but chuckle at Moyes in his grandad polo shirts.

More fitting with this thread, I thought, "that male model looks proper scouse, about 15 years old, skinny get, no hair gel", then I thought "oh, it's Billy.."

I don't think he had a very good match at Spuds. There were a number of times he had the ball in the middle of the park and could have really driven forward and attacked them, but instead just seemed to want to be rid of the ball and played disappointing overly optimistic passes. He needs to really believe in himself and want to take the game by the scruff of the neck if he wants to keep his place in the team, coz at the moment he's not doing nearly enough.

I rate him as a footballer. He's got a good brain on him and he reads the game ahead of alot of players in terms of his passing but he's not up to the pace and power of the Premiership and I'm unsure if he ever will be. I expected him to come on alot over pre season and improve like Fellaini did but he hasn't improved at all since he's come here to be honest. I'm beginning to think it would suit all parties involved if he moved on. However, if we weren't able to get a decent fee, somewhere around what we paid for him then we shouldn't take a loss on him because he can do a job for us. If a team offered us 8 million then maybe it's time for him to move on and allow Moyes to bring in a right winger that we need. I've still got time for him though and he gets some real unfair criticism from some fans.
