Bilyaletdinov - OUT

Think Moyes has just said everything the non-kneejerkers have been saying.

The fact he has such a decent left peg on him means he's got time to adapt.

And Moyes will get him to knuckle down. So don't know what people want.

People have been saying that for a long time now. It depends what you are looking for really, if you are happy for him to chip in with the odd goal here and there but continue to be on the fringe of things then fair enough, but we played 9 million for the lad, and he's behind Pienaar, Coleman, Osman and even Anichebe when he's fit. Moyes clearly isn't keen on him.

It isnt moyes aint keen on him its just confidence and time, i mean he played a whole season in russia to then play nearly a whole season at Everton because of injuries so i think that didnt help him but now he has had a well deserved rest he just needs a run in the team and im sure he will be up to speed and full of confidence and then we will see the real bily so please back off the lad and if by the end of this season/ beginning of next he hasnt improved then fair enough then maybe start thinking about it

... AT THE MOMENT.

But Moyes' quotes suggests that Billy will get opportunities to change that.

People were saying "for a long time" about Fellaini. And all got shown up bad for that.

So yeah. I'm happy to wait till whenever Moyes deems is suitable or not to play him.

Not bad kneejerking all over the shop!

What's knee jerk about it? When everyone is fit and available Bilyaletdinov is low down in the pecking order, and has been for a long time now. Pienaar, Osman, Donovan, Coleman and Anichebe have all been ahead of him at times during his Everton career.

Fellaini, on the other hand, started week in week out, and Moyes stuck with him no matter what his form. There situations are completely different. I'm not even ****ging Bilya off, he's a talented player, but it's obvious to me that Moyes isn't very keen on him. And when you look at the balance of the team, he doesn't really fit in.

He's a Russian Matt Le Tissier. Our team isnt one suited to that type of player.

If you're not hard working and rely on popping up with the fancy flick with the cracking goal from time to time but go missing after 20minutes - you dont fit into the Everton team.

Its why Anichebe and Osman will be above him. He's a glamour player really and we dont do them

I don't know Matt Le Tissier, but this post is the first one against Bily that seems to have any legitimate merit. I know he's suffering from a confidence issue, and I still hope he works with us, but one of the reasons we've had such a time with him is what kenada is mentioning here, he can score, but he is a type of player that we are just not used to (and may not have a huge use for).

I'm still hopeful, but kenada's statement seems to have merit imo.

Do a youtube search on Matt Le tissier. Probably the most gifted English player of last 25 years.

Here's Le Tiss - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSsdfe4Z69g

Anyway I love Bilya...I think he's the most technically gifted and creative players we have. Pienaar and Arteta being the other 2, and I see no wrong in having a 3rd. He shown glimpses last season of being a little bit quicker in terms of decision making and seeing a pass that everyone took notice of - its why people say he's clearly talented.

But he doesnt put a shift in. Compare him to Osman, Vic, Coleman and Pienaar as wide players they all chase up and down and hunt lost causes for 90minutes. Bilya doesnt. He hasnt had a run of games to create a relationship with either full backs and read the midfielders play. He seems to prefer to stay in advance positions and drift more centrally to find space. He cant find that space in the prem out wide so seems to move more into a attacking midfield position - but he's not supposed to do that as a wide player in the team.

Its not a slant on his play, its just they type of player he is. Belongs in a Arsenal side or in Italy or Spain where those types of players who get space to express themselves without relying on pace and have space to perform. He's like a midfield Berbatov or more like Krankjar...players that dont really suit our team.

He's the only player, probably apart from Cahill, that can win a game out nothing too. But I can see him going in January or the summer. Big flop buy from Moyes - not because he's a poor player, but the wrong type of player.

Who didnt like to run and went missing for entire games although every goal he scored was pure genius. Its why he never played for England as much and why big teams looked and passed on him. Was seen as a glamour player.

They say it takes a foreign player 18 months to adapt to the Premier League. Bily's hardly had a run in the side, which will make it even harder. In 18 league starts he's given us 6 goals. He can be anonymous, but I don't buy it that he's lazy. I think that the pace and the physical nature of the game is a challenge for him, just as it is for Leon Osman. Bily can strike a ball probably better than anyone at the club. I'd like to see us play to his strengths more and to nurture him.

I dont think he's "lazy" just like I dont think Yak is "lazy". I just think there's a difference between a player who grafts and puts in a shift up and down the pitch, and ones that are intelligent but dont put the high level of work rate into their game.

Everton and its fans want to see a hard working grafter over a fancy dan who can do a few step overs and 30 yard screamers. And that suits our system more.

I don't think that's a major problem for Moyes, Bilyaletdinov's workrate is nowhere near as bad as people make out, and he runs alot more than Anichebe does, who plays high up the pitch and does little tracking back, yet Victor was still getting picked ahead of him when he was available.

Bilyaletdinov main problem is his attacking play, which is his strongest point. He doesn't do anywhere near enough creating. He hides away from the ball and doesn't take responsibility when he gets it. That's the difference between him and someone like Niko Kranjcar, the Croatian isn't afraid to take the ball and try difficult bits of play. If Bilyaletdinov got this area of his game right, I think Moyes would play him more than he does.

That and he's got Steven Pienaar infront of him, who's simply a better player.

That's probably a confidence thing IMO and game time to get his game right. I've seen Bilya last season trying different things, threading balls through, trying to find a killer pass - he's not doing it this season. He's not even utlilising his left leg - no corners, crosses, free kicks - nothing.

And Vic has a power and directness to his game, which is why he's get picked. And yes, Pienaar is the better player.

Which is why he doesnt fit in the team as others players have either work rate (Osman), directness (Vic) and all round play (Pienaar) more than him despite being better technically that 2 of those 3 players.

Bit of a waste, but its better he left. We'd only get a bit more than £5mill for him though.
