billy the engima.... i can see him as a player when he moves on and sayin "why couldnt he do that for us"
a lot hav been callin for him to play behind the striker and maybe thats his position but IMHO he aint gettin in ahead of cahill at present cos even when cahill isnt at the top of his game he is a nuisance to the opposition he lets them know they r in a game .....billy doesnt hav this in his locker nor is he the player that we could allow to roam freely and pass on his "team" duties

i d likethe lad to succeed coz he has an attackin sense about him i just dont see him doin it anyway regularly in an everton jersey

Moyesy still reckons hes ace:

“Bily played well at Tottenham and we changed it round for the next game against Stoke and brought Seamus back in because we were at home,” explained the Blues boss.

“Bily’s been a bit up and down, but we’re certainly not critical. We want to try and get him the opportunity.

“The other night Bily ended up having three chances. He made the wrong decision when he cut inside when he had a chance on the outside, he had a shot which was going in the top corner but hit Zat Knight and he had another shot which he pulled back the post.

“So by the end of the night you might say Bily wasn’t that involved, but he had three chances to score goals.”
Bilyaletdinov is going to have to forge a first team place for himself down the flanks.

Despite playing plenty of his football in Russia in a more central role, Moyes added: “There’s no place for him in a central position given the quality of players we have in there at the moment.

“Not with Jack Rodwell to come into the team, Marouane Fellaini, Johnny Heitinga, and we’ve still got Leon Osman to come back.

“There could be a possibility behind the striker. A couple of people have mentioned that to me but it’s something I’ve not really considered that much because I already have a lot of people who can do that. I could have two players up front or I could play Steven Pienaar in there as well so there’s quite a lot of competition for those sort of roles.”

As a left midfielder I think he could do a job if given a bit of a run in the team, he has an excellent cross and can pick a pass. Hes just not a winger in the sense or running at and beating players.

In other words : "Sorry billy but you're [Poor language removed] and won't get in the team behind my 37 central midfielders, but if you're lucky you might get a chance out wide cause i don't buy wingers".

And who are these "lot of people" who can play behind the striker? Or does he just mean the Osman rule which means if you put a player in a position he can play there, regardless of how crap he might be at it?

And lol at 2 players up front. Yeah Dave you could couldn't you. Of course you could drop Cahill and play Billy behind Yakubu. Or you could invent a cure for cancer.

As a centre midfielder, which I think is what Moyes' talking about, Bilyaletdinov has no chance. He may like to occupy central positions, but he wouldn't last two seconds in the middle of the park. Behind the striker, maybe, and I'm not even convinced how good he'd be there to be honest. There's no doubting his talent, but for me, he seems to have far too many weaknesses. I don't think there's been many games I've seen come away from and thought Bilyaletdinov have given a solid, rounded performance. Every game is littered with frustrating moments and mistakes.

I'm glad Moyes has come out and spoke of his patience with him, and as I said earlier, there's no contract/attitude issues with him like several players, and he's only pushing 26.

I sincerely hope that we try not to get rid of him in January.

Hiddink had faith in Bilyaletdinov being able to make the step up. Wish he could reproduce this sort of stuff in the Prem

He did score some crackers, and boy does he look happy when he scores. I so so wish he would be given a extended run in the side to prove that we are wrong about him.
