Bilyaletdinov - OUT

so i think if bily is gonna get stick (hes a alround good lad imo) then steve round and the coaching team also have to be questioned.

In the Howard thread someone said that essentially since the likes of him and Cahill have proven themselves so many times before, we give them more of the benefit of the doubt during bad patches then we do new players like Distin who haven't proven themselves capable before.

In the same way our coaches have improved a hell of a lot players over the last few years, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt over Bily who has never proved that he can play in a league this fast.

He definitely doesn't have the pace to play out on the wings, but I think, in the middle, he would be ace. He showed some real glimpses of brilliance last season and I really hope that he manages to gain his confidence back soon to show it again.

I reckon he should be given a few blasts at free kicks and corners, aswell. He delivered some crackers, last season.

He was ok in the first half the second seemed to pass him by. He doesn't really give the impression of being cut out for the Premier League, but it's hard as he seldom gets a decent run of games.

He drifted in the middle alot and was next to Yak on a fair few occasions.

He may suit being in the middle.

He'll be gone in January though. Shame, he's one of the most technically gifted players we have.

I noticed this, you can tell were he is most comfortable. he seems to be a player who likes to drift into space and not have a strict role. these players are very usefull for beaking down defences and i hope moyes gives him this freedom and oppotunity to do this.
I still think he can be one of our most dangerous players.

FWIW the Guardian's MBM coverage thought he was our best player in the first half:

30 min: If Modric has been Tottenham's star man so far, then Bilyaletdinov is Everton's. Again he tears down the inside-left channel, so nearly releasing Yakubu with a clever pass through the centre; Gallas intercepts well. Then the winger is this close to sending Baines scampering clear into the area from a wide left position, but Lennon of all people saves the day with a crunching tackle.

Personally I think he is not entirely on the wavelength of the side and, in a team as connected as ours is, it shows out an awful lot more than it would normally. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt though, after all Fellaini did take a while to tune in.

I'd agree with that, he wasn't brilliant, but he wasn't shocking either. It was a difficult game really, Bily did a fairly solid job.

As for playing him centrally, I don't see it personally, his movement isn't good enough and whilst he does have creative qualities, he plays within himself most of the time and takes the easy option. You look at the difference between him and Pienaar, who's always moving, finding pockets of space and making himself available. Bilyaletdinov doesn't do enough of that really, he's a bit like Kranjcar at Spurs, a central player who suited to wide positions.

I rate him as many do - but we have been unable to get the best out of him for whatever reason. Its dissapointing the level of impact he has had on the team, considering the level of investment we have put into him in terms of finance which is huge for us. When you think that he and Van Der Varrt cost about the same in terms of fee you would have to say he hasnt lived up to expectaions.

Another lacklustre performance once again. No interest at all in the game, no passion whatsoever. This is happening far too regularly these days. Would happily sell him in January for a decent price (£6/7m?). Has to be one of Moyes' biggest flops.

"Fellaini Out"
"Billy Out"

"Moylez Out!"

The rest of the squad seem to like him enough.

Won't be long till we see this again...

And again this " Somone .... out" nonsense will be put in context - yet again

Freekicks, corners, and shooting.

Lift the ban.

I agree. Since he had that groin strain last season he's (billy) rarely taken corners.

Its one thing Everton really do need to improve on and needs sorting. Arteta should stick to free kicks and penalties and leave corners unless they're short ones - to someone else.

He'd be much better taking shots from second balls or short corners.

(aka Donovan) but there's defo room for Billy at Everton as someone with as sweet a left foot as billy - are hard to find.
