Are Chelsea and man. City bigger than Everton? I suppose in terms of financial turnover and armchair fanbase they are.

Are they in any way "Greater" than Everton? No way.

Decades of relative failure linked to lack of a suger daddy makes us in ways smaller but still of course greater.

As chicomelt said, to me Everton are the biggest, bestest football team in the world, when I sing the song, I honestly do think Everton are the greatest team the world has ever seen.

But in the real world and in the grand scale of things, we really arent a big club anymore, whether we like it or not, big clubs can attract big players, big clubs play in big competitions and big clubs win big trophys, in the 80s we were big, in the 80s we were MASSIVE, but its 2014 and we are just a club with a rich history of winning trophys, something we havent done since 1995.

So sorry, I dont consider us a big club.

Doesnt mean I dont love this club with every fibre of my "slim" body.

I got to say when it comes to Dublin Ireland, I can say for every 1 Evertonian there is easily thousands of Liverpool fans just based on shirts I see and and my social circle. Same with Man U. Then the popularity drops dramatically but still miles ahead of Everton with Arsenal, Chelsea. I must say though I come across more Evertonians than City fans but give that time. Anytime a derby is on if I am not over there it's only me in the pub as an Evertonian depending on the pub size it's packed to the rafters with the ****e. Occasionally I meet perhaps one Evertonian and we get along like a house on fire in the pub, we act like best mates.

One time for the FA cup semi final I was in a huge pub beside a hotel called The Arc with two huge lounges and two big bars. Must have been 150 or so ****e fans there it was astonishing. I was singing it's a grand old team getting on every ones nerves, when Jelavic scored I screamed the place down and one guy ran over and hugged me saying he was an Evertonian just didn have my balls. When pool eventually beat us (most depressing day ever) the pool fans didn't even give me much stick, I think they where embarrassed to be honest. About being the majority by so much.

I know that was a tangent but I'm just saying internationally we are outnumbered in fan base drastically I don't even think we make 1 percent of the gathering of all Irish pool/united fans and Evertonians. . . . but I wouldn't have it any other way. I have a conversation with any Evertonian we are brothers over here. I would never punch a fellow Evertonian!

Thanks pal. Well if fan base is anything to do with the size of a club I was just giving a sense of the Irish fan base over here. I went of on a story but I think a Liverpool Evertonian would loose there mind over here. wehn i'm in liverpool I come across less Liverpool fans if ya can believe that.

Just expressing my respect pal . I don't punch people normally just an expression. I'm not very conventional when it comes to talking, I'll give you that.

Unfortunately, I think to the majority....A big club is one that has money and an expensively assembled squad.... i.e city are now big....
