That brace has taken him to fifth place in the entire league in terms of goals per minute.

5th, in one of the two best leagues in the world, after jumping from the third division.

He should be one of the first names on the teamsheet now. Come on Jermaine, lid! (y)

For the 80th time, I can't for the life of me understand the stick he gets. Potentially a top, top striker.

Comparing him to Gyan, a striker people rave about, is interesting.

Good on Moysie for playing 4-4-2 today. I've said since pre-season that Saha and Beckford look like a good partnership. Once Becks settles down and relaxes a little, I'm sure that he'll be even more clinical in front of goal and that his conversion rate will go up. You're right though, he has done very well so far.

Yes when he was talking the other week about playing as the lone striker being a bit strange to him, it got me thinking about why was there a need to put extra pressure on the lad. It is a steep learning curve anyway, so just let him play with louis when available- he'll miss a few but he's not scared to have a go and lately doesn't allow it to knock his confidence either.

Made up Beckford scored as i'm sick to death of fans ****ging him off
100% agree, hes my type of forward running every where trying his best for the team,if he misses chances so what at least he was there to miss the chance some of which he has made himself,i was very happy when we signed him myself but all i heard from most was hes not good enough for Everton and this and that etc,you only become good enough when your given the chance to show what you can do.

Marcus Bent was kind of similar in that he was lightweight and that his strength was in his mobility. Beckford has the advantage that he has more of a goal threat. We're short of options up front, especially because of Saha's injury record, so there will be times when he'll have to play up front by himself. Wherever possible, I would like to see us play with two strikers though. Beckford's tally is probably already more than we expected from him and he's scored against Chelsea and Liverpool, so we can have no complaints about his contribution. He will get better too.

Wow - look at who he's with at the top of that list! Good stuff! Now let's continue playing him!!!!!!

Moyes said it best when he said that a striker doesn't make the jump from League One to the Premier League and just start banging them in. There's a big adjustment period and he's going through it.

Done well though. He's done very well.

Oh, and I think Gyan is a great player. I'd love to see him with Everton.

THE GOOD

He's gonna be quality.

He's the type of player that will surprise you ... I can't wait to be in the position to introduce him at Anfield and let them try what they did last season... they'll get a nasty shock.

Your gonna be gutted when he scores a hatrick at Analfield lad.

Grey Skull . Next time .

Stand on me .

That Cigar thing , kissing his fingers , at their end , while Timmy gives the " V's " , a la Inchy .

I LIVE FOR THOSE MOMENTS .

No **** .

- the prophetic one...

THE BAD

Believe me, I wouldn't. He's ******* ****e. Nowhere near Everton class.

Don't think he'll have one 'till pre season

AND THE UGLY

Wouldn't touch him with a ****ty stick. As already said on this thread, he's Newcastle class...in every sense of the word.

He may come on a free but will want a 3/4 year contract so I do not see that if it does not we can just get shut!

Anyway would not be coming until the summer so a lot can happen before that. Personally do not rate him as a players for us given the points members have made and would he muck up our dressing room spirit.

So? It means nothing, its 1 goal in 1 game, i could play agaiinst man u and the ball could deflect in off my arse, doesnt mean im capable of doing it regulary.

Well a penalty and a tap in while on his ass :D

I've never seen more miss-hits and flukes in one video my whole life!

Just hope and pray Saha and Yakubu become interested and find their form next season cause if we are relying on Beckford "to get us where we want to be" then god help us.

Keep him on the bench and use him if we need a change, and for Carling cup games but anything else and we might as well stick Cahill up there again.
