Davek’s relentless (and sometimes rabid pessimism) is one of the highpoints of coming into this forum for me. A lot of what he says is a much needed counterbalance to the ‘one miniute we are great, the next we are crap’ brigade. Davek is like and angel on your shoulder, just happens to be an angel crippled with haemorrhoids and who has just found out its bird is carrying on with the angel next door, so tends to have the hump a lot!

Seriously though, I have said a few times on here, Davel oftn talks a lot of sense, but insists on shrouding that good sense in a cloud of grimness, which means most people miss the sense and focus on the misery! I wouldn’t change him though :)

I'd go as far as saying he's a ctun;)

As @Groucho says, Dave has been on here a long time and whilst his opinions can be peculiar to say the least, I can't recall many instances where he's ever resorted to personal abuse when making them. If you take nothing else from him, perhaps you could try and conduct yourself with a similar level of dignity.

Disagree with @davek all you like, God knows I do a lot, but don’t resort to insults.

And don’t accuse blues of being reds.

Well said.
Ok cards on the table .first off apoligies to DAVEK for stepping over the line with insults should not of done it apoligies Dave
But to TBH it down months worth of negativity towards everything from jags who I agree with him about BTW to baines to moshiri to Pickford to the ground move and I know Dave is intitled to his opinion but not everything's bad .we have all been there when Everton have frustrated the life out of you .but there are club and we all want the goods times back and am all for giving some players grief if there not trying like our number 2 last season but Dave just a little bit of positivity now and again .

Hes very positive about our club's failed managerslollollol

ok, technically it's leasehold instead of freehold.
Everton have signed a 200 year lease on a site for a new stadium. Happy?

What is the difference between a leasehold and a freehold, Ruari.

A fellow on the news last night was furious at Persimmon on account of they paid their top honcho a £75 million bonus.....yes you read that right....but were refusing to give him a freehold on the house he bought from them and that greatly affects his sell on price.

Freehold would suggest outright ownership of both the building and the land. Leasehold could be a long term lease of either the land or the building. In Evertons case, they’d lease the land as it’s probably impossible to buy but they’ll own the building on the leased site.
In the case of that scumbag with the stupid bonus, he’ll set up a company that owns a building (freehold) then sell long term leases to the units in the building. All the leaseholders pay a fee to the freehold company which manages common issues (roof repair etc).
75m bonus tho, ffs!!

I thought he might have been talking about you, Macca. While I'm here, I don't remember Davek ever posting anything
positive about this club. Maybe he has, but I just don't remember it.

76 points.

1/ it does exceptionally good work and deserves to be commended in its own right
2/ it really isn't Everton FC - its a separate entity
3/ the biggest error it ever made was throwing in with the Tory school academy idea (though I accept this was the moron Elstone's hobby-horse and that he placed pressure on this closely aligned organisation to take it up)
4/ maybe a bit cynically I tend to think there's an inverse relationship between EFC's failure to progress on and off the pitch and the push to gain publicity for EitC - the club basically has a parasitic relationship with the latter, shamefully
If you search EITC you will find page after page of references to Everton FC.
Further, upon her appointment as an honorary patron of the charity Dame Judi Dench said 'I was truly honoured to be
offered the chance to become involved in such a special charity AND AT MY FOOTBALL CLUB'.
