Lets not forget that hes still a very young player. Lescotts been very much out of sorts so far and I think Baines has been better for the team than Lescott has this season.

...like this poster. Well said and I wholeheartedly agree. I've, I mean, Baines has been much better for the team.

Lescott's been utter crap this year and...what I meant to say is that Jo's form isn't great right now but he'll get back to where he was soon.

Hopefully as centerback. Let Jags or Yobo sit for awhile. Bastards.

Hey, why don't we start up a Leighton Baines Appreciation Thread.

We could "sticky" it and all that.

Just thinking out loud here and I'm sure many of you have thought that this forum was missing something but you couldn't quite put your finger on it.

We need another Fernandes thread i think...that'll make this forum compete.

I think Moyes lack of confidence in Baines is weighing heavy on the lads mind when he gets the nod thus making him frightened to [Poor language removed] up instead of getting stuck in with the gusto that confidence brings.

I actually think that given Lescotts dodgy form of late that Baines should be given at least a couple of starts in an attempt to get his head right .

Ha ha we all talk about squad depth and then get annoyed when we use it.

Simple fact is that he will play some games and wont play others mainly down to his stature (if only we had a similar option for Ossie in some games) but hes a very good player and has a lot of class and i loved the some of the play between him and Pienaar against Newcastle he set up both goals. Has to be said he is one of the very few fullbacks in the country who can change a game, this is why he is invaluable.

Can i also just make the point what happens if we sustain an injury at centre back, Baines is a shu in!

Anyone remember a certain Mr. Valente!

Exactly. He doesn't get dropped because the boss thinks he is crap even when he plays well.

He's pretty shallow if he wants to leave if you ask me. Be a man and stick with it and your time will come, he's still young, don't cry about not playing every game. Stay with a decent team with a good chance of success instead of pissing off to somewhere [Poor language removed] like sunderland.
