Baines

Well unless he's a totally selfish money grabbing [Poor language removed] he will stay and fight for his place.

I dont know him but i reckon there's a good chance he is a fairly intelligent lad who knows that we have a smallish side and against a bigger team its better to play as many big players as we can.

And unfortunatly for Baines that means him dropping out for Lescott.

Its not that Lescott is better and Baines is [Poor language removed] but its what is best for the team in each game, whatever team selection gives us the best chance of winning.

He's only been here for a season and a bit, he's probably spoke to Moyes about it but he isn't an automatic first choice at the moment but if he sticks with it in time he will be.

Baines will fight for his place, but to be honest I think he has already deserved it.

The futures bright, The futures Baines.

moyes doesnt see baines as a physical player, more technical, and our style of play (supposedly) is to get stuck in, guarantee that lescott will be at LB again on wed.

i think hes a class act .. much better than lescott at the minute he gives us a better option pushing foward with his crossing

to be fair to baines he has played well in a team of under performers. he should be irritated he is the fall guy.

he is so far behind ashley cole now for an england place that i think he must be wanting to move in january.

I do think Baines should be full time left back. Lescott can be left back in terms of being a defender but nowdays its all about being a wing back, getting up and down helping the winger and being an attacking threat when needed.

We just had to show a rock hard defence on the weekend. Their goal was more of a midfield error than a defensive error so the problem still lies with the midifeld defending.

Lescott can beat players by strength not skill down the wing. But Baines is better technically, Pienaar seems comfortable playing with him as the balls is always on the floor when they have it.

Even though we've a small squad we've still got midfield and defensive quality that give Moyes a selection headache in certain areas.

But I do think Baines will go or be sold in January. The lad cant do right from wrong and if a few clubs are interested (Fulham, Sunderland, Hull even) who want him for £5-6mill he'd probably go.

I woulnt want him to go, he's a class act. It'd end up the typical everton way, sell a player when we've no back up (Lescott and Valente as LBs) and buy some else for another position when we've no money.

he's got no chance of playing for england, none whatsoever, cole, bridge and lescott are all ahead of him

Lets not forget that hes still a very young player. Lescotts been very much out of sorts so far and I think Baines has been better for the team than Lescott has this season.

How Wayne Bridge gets anywhere near the England squad by warming the bench at Chelski I never know. You clearly know what kind of player Bridge is when he signs for an extra 5 years at Chelsea knowing he'll always be a benchwarmer. Waste of space.

There is a lack of quality English left sided wing backs or left backs in the country.

As much as Wayne Bridge doesnt play, when he does, hes excellent 90% of the time. He is actually a real waste of talent staying at Chelsea.

But thats the sort of player he is -- a money grabbing bar-stool.

He could put a transfer request in in the summer to move on but he chose to stay on the bench earing £90,000 odd a week. Other players left because they werent getting 1st squad games - Sidwell, Ben Heim, Wright Phillips, all play week in week out now.
