apology from Manchester United

Everton have received a written apology from Manchester United over the way they recruited then-Toffees boss David Moyes as their manager.
Goodison chiefs are still furious at the way they were treated by the champions over the pursuit of Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor.
We can exclusively reveal that Old Trafford officials have said sorry in an attempt to diffuse the row, which threatened to escalate into a full-scale complaint to the Premier League.
Moyes - by his own admission - was approached by United months before the official announcement of his appointment.
Everton have also been stung by United revealing the Scot would replace Ferguson almost three weeks before the end of last season, ignoring the effect such a revelation would have on the end of the Toffees’ campaign.
Now the simmering resentment has led to Everton slamming the door shut on United’s move for England defender Leighton Baines.
The Old Trafford giants were hoping to follow up a £12million bid they made in June with a slightly increased offer.

So DM claims of I will not sign my new improved wage rise from 67k to whatever maybe 70k per week because I want too see what transfer kitty is available in January 2013 - then I want to see where the club finishes in the league were lies by him Oh never - and the fans were conned into giving him a great send off by Bill Kenwrong - he came in a tracksuit and left us a millionaire in a Mercedes he was the only club who was on a bigger salary than any player in any other club in the premiership he was well overpaid! I also feel maybe BK new all the time what was going on from December onwards!

I am 99% certain Moyes had Utd job in January, If you haven't got a job lined up you wouldn't walk out on the coziest and risk your career.

If we went to an FA tribunal the case would get kicked out because I'd imagine after a certain date other clubs could approach moyes and coincidentally the meeting at Ferguson's house happened after the date.

I'd imagine there's a method in this madness, yes. United want to allow Kenwright to look 'strong' when he steps away from his *Leighton's not for sale* statement to sell him for around £17M. United aren't exactly known for their public apologies...so this is strategy.

Have to say this all day long.

Utd are no mugs, there past and possibly actions cost us millions, how much does a letter cost 20p for the postage. I know what id do with their letter.

I did and I wish I hadn't now.

We´re chumps.

It´s like your fit girl has just dumped you for another guy but still calls you up and asks you to come over and help her with her kitchen plumbing and changing the tires on her Honda. When you get there bright and early, tool-box in hand, she opens the front door wearing nothing but a kimono, let´s you in to the garage and then goes back into the house cause she wants to make her new man breakfast.

Did you not read the news report of what happened - DM went to see SAF after a phone call in his jeans as he thought it was about a loan player in December and it was an offer to be the next UNTS Manager - do you live on another planet the Ginger one shafted our fans!

You've taken the actual story and added "in December"

His story is, and always has been, that he was approached the week before it was announced.

Not. Even. Arsed.

Was one of the ones who said he shouldn't be allowed to manage the last two games of the season, and was roundly shouted down by a large number on here that wanted to give him a wee clap and a wave.

Who gives a sh*t what Man Utd or David Moyes think? The apology will be nothing more than an exercise in making Kenwright roll over and have his tummy tickled whilst they sneak out the back door with the best left back in the league for way below market value.

Don't believe for a moment Kenwright was outraged about the tapping up, I suggest Moyes was given the nod provisionally the previous season and told Bill with both agreeing the contract charade till confirmed one way or another.

We ended up looking like extras in the "Man Utd appoints Moyes" show that's what will have pished him off.

The idea Utd's feeder club is getting uppity potentially ruining one of their most trusted and malleable supply lines would have prompted them to get a junior secretary to knock out a letter.

Need to ring them every thursday and tell them to fck off .... possibly mondays as well.
