Not the first and it won't be the last time, united have used underhand tactics to get their man. Remember how they hijacked berbatovs move to city, without having been permission to speak to the player. They got away with this, due to them making a donation to the spurs former players foundation. I wish levy had had the balls at the time to report them to the premier league, as he seems ruthless in everything he does, yet allowed united to effectively get away with it. As for moyes the way he treated this club in the last 6 months is shameful. I was one of his biggest fans, but the circumstances in which he engineered his departure, has made me lose all respect for the guy as a person (but not as a manager). Funnily enough a mate of mine who is a united fan, couldn't believe how he and united engineered the move away from us. He was surprised we hadn't kicked up a fuss about it.

I've always thought that the Moyes business should have gone to a full scale FA enquiry. At best it was tapping up, at worst it was far more sinister , and one has to wonder who was actually ITK on this. Its obvious that apart from Fergie and Moyes, others at OT will have known( some people would have NEEDED to know). I don't want to feed a scrap to the conspiracy theorists/ anti BK platoon, but collusion at Everton is not beyond the realms of possibility either. Maybe both clubs(including BK) knew exactly what was happening, or maybe a few of Moyes confidants at Everton(possibly Round, Lumsden,Phil Neville) were ITK. Nothing in football is surprising any more, and what is heard is not always what is being said...and that includes BKs gold watch presentation performance.

Moyes was almost certainly approached before the announcement, but on the other hand we had probably had an informal word with Martinez

Moyes appointment was confirmed a few hours after a newspaper broke the story, Martinez on the other hand, happened after the season ended and after Everton PUBLICALLY asked for permission and conducted interviews.

The 'waiting to see where we finish before signing a contract' line was the worst excuse I've ever heard, especially when it was pretty obvious at that point where we were going to finish.

Then he stupidly admits 'Sir Alex' told him he was their next manager in his house.

The fella wouldn't lie straight in bed.

Everton have received a written apology from Manchester United over the way they recruited then-Toffees boss David Moyes as their manager.
Goodison chiefs are still furious at the way they were treated by the champions over the pursuit of Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor.
We can exclusively reveal that Old Trafford officials have said sorry in an attempt to diffuse the row, which threatened to escalate into a full-scale complaint to the Premier League.
Moyes - by his own admission - was approached by United months before the official announcement of his appointment.
Everton have also been stung by United revealing the Scot would replace Ferguson almost three weeks before the end of last season, ignoring the effect such a revelation would have on the end of the Toffees’ campaign.
Now the simmering resentment has led to Everton slamming the door shut on United’s move for England defender Leighton Baines.
The Old Trafford giants were hoping to follow up a £12million bid they made in June with a slightly increased offer.

David Moyes is a pompous philistine and a [Poor language removed].

Will be fun to see if any of the Moyes apologists acknowledge this story. Their central line was that nothing untoward had taken place.

It's sad that Evertonians put Moyes on such a level that they have overlooked his lies when he said in the West Ham press conference that it had only happened in the last 48 hours when in fact this had been plotted for weeks/months.

He had the cheek to sit there and tell us all he found it all 'whirlwind' and how it 'came out of the blue' then continued to take a quarter of a million pounds worth of wages despite lying to fans and being 'asked' by Ferguson while still under contract

The thought of a large portion of our fans clapping him when he descends on Goodison Park turns my stomach.
