apology from Manchester United

Granted, this is tittle tattle of the highest order, but I wish I'd lobbed a few quid on Moyes being next manager at United back in October. I went on a conference which was held at the Etihad Stadium, and as part of the day we got a tour of the stadium. Very nice it was too.
Anyway, the tour guide was an old fella who'd been working for City for absolute donkeys. I got chatting to him about Everton - (he thinks Rodwell is crap, btw) - and he was adamant that Moyes would be next Utd manager. He reckoned that Moyes was a regular visitor to Utd's training ground at Carrington (City have their training ground in the same area) and that Moyes was an absolute shoe in.

Didn't pay much attention at the time. Hindsight etc.

Will be fun to see if any of the Moyes apologists acknowledge this story.
Their central line was that nothing
untoward had taken place.

I'm not an apologist for anyone. Moyes never at any point promised or seemed likely to sign a new contract. Any vague hope of him staying died on January 31st. He stayed and saw his contract out as you would expect. All this faux outrage is embarrasing tbh.

Link? Ta.

Did you not read the news report of what happened - DM went to see SAF after a phone call in his jeans as he thought it was about a loan player in December and it was an offer to be the next UNTS Manager - do you live on another planet the Ginger one shafted our fans!

If you are that way inclined, it'll be quite hard not to wish anything but failure on this man in his future career.

I personally don't care to the point of despising him, but I would have wry smile watching him crash and burn and Utd this season.

Anyway, we've got Roberto now and we can move away from 'we'l go with what we've got' and 'knife in a gunfight' comments and also move away from PE teacher Neville who liked to have a go at fans who travelled to Bolton in the snow in hazardous conditions.

Who's f*cking arsed, dread the thought of this forum getting clogged up with threads about that lemon faced tw*t.

I am 99% certain Moyes had Utd job in January, If you haven't got a job lined up you wouldn't walk out and risk your career.
Also If Kenwright was 'outraged', He wouldn't have made such a fuss about moyes or asked Moyes about the new manager.

I really wouldn't worry too much about this.
Utd didn't tap up a manager who was happy and settled in his job.Twelve months earlier we all knew David Moyes wanted the Spurs job, would have taken it,but wasn't even considered..it would appear.

After that episode I think Moyes had decided to leave if at all possible with a job on the continent the most likely option. He was running down his contract ,was looking for other jobs with the added inducement that he could leave with no compensation to be paid.
I think that nothing in particular was happening for him when suddenly out of the blue he was offered the Utd job. I still cannot believe that he got that job and I still believe it will end in tears.

Regarding Baines. I believe Bill Kenwright genuinely doesn't want to sell him as a chairman and as a fan.He has already made the point that he told David Moyes not to come back for Baines.
He still may be sold, but I think it will be only at a price that is genuinely too good to turn down...and David Moyes doesn't make those bids.

Whats the problem? Modern footie lads. Dont want or need an apology from those arrogant tools. Happy we have made a change. Cant be arsed who Utds manager is.

Do we really care ?.If GOT did a poll between who we want as our manager right now,who do you think would win? .

RM has bought about a buzz to the club that was missing for a while and for me died against Wigan.I'm not anti Moyes in anyway, the time was right for us as a club to move forward, wether it was the right move for Moyes or not is irrelevant.
Moyes did great for us but the new man thinks he can do better,he's got me hoping he's right.
Good luck to Moyes, don't see him surviving his contract but again, what do I care ?,and Lids really,do you think we've never approached anyone before !!.as already said, they might be trying to soften us up for a bid.
