apology from Manchester United

Feck Him, we'll pass the chunts off the park and stuff em this season, although there's every possibility that he'll just turn up and park the bus doing everything to avoid defeat without a chance of winning.

Playing in the style that won Greece the euro's with doesn't cut it now as too many teams are playing a totally different kind of footy and will have enough ball to break them down.

Sources reporting that Everton have written a letter of apology to Man Utd for forcing Steve Round on them.

This whole thing is a massive Kenwrightian ploy.

Moyes and his trusty deputies have been sent in to turn Manchester United into a mid-table outfit, thus freeing up a European slot for us.

Brilliant, really. Turns out the man is a schemer of the highest order.

You've taken the actual story and added "in December"

His story is, and always has been, that he was approached the week before it was announced.

If you want to be that gullible, then that's fine with me - anyway I feel he had taken our club as far as he could - he has left for us to become better with him gone, and win an elusive trophy hopefully under Roberto, but BK must think all blues are so gullible if he was only approached one week before, why now this apology ???!

Everton have received a written apology from Manchester United over the way they recruited then-Toffees boss David Moyes as their manager.
Goodison chiefs are still furious at the way they were treated by the champions over the pursuit of Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor.
We can exclusively reveal that Old Trafford officials have said sorry in an attempt to diffuse the row, which threatened to escalate into a full-scale complaint to the Premier League.
Moyes - by his own admission - was approached by United months before the official announcement of his appointment.
Everton have also been stung by United revealing the Scot would replace Ferguson almost three weeks before the end of last season, ignoring the effect such a revelation would have on the end of the Toffees’ campaign.
Now the simmering resentment has led to Everton slamming the door shut on United’s move for England defender Leighton Baines.
The Old Trafford giants were hoping to follow up a £12million bid they made in June with a slightly increased offer.

Good; 'uckem off, throw the book at them and 'uck Moyes off as well....we're well rid....bitter, moi....nah

The running down of his contract was the most shameful part for me. It was a deliberate tactic against a club who gave him his chance with the prem, stood by him for 11 years, made him one of the highest paid managers, and who he knew needed every penny of any transfer fee. I don't know why I expected better from him, but I did..........

Agreed entirely. Especially when he had the audacity to say all players should take at least a 10% pay cut as they wouldn't notice it and it would save football at the same time as he was holding us to ransom for the last contract. I the last three to four years I lost pretty much all of the sizeable respect he had earned from me.

If moyes believed he was good enough for united he would have signed a new contract with us and made them pay for him to give us much needed funds, that is if he had loyalty after 11 years, say 5 million to us is a lot but not to united who would be getting their next manager who is supposedly the most important part of a club. I wanted moyes gone I said during his contract stalling as I believed our up and coming talent would be excellent combined with some of our world class first team regulars would be a potent mix. I believed moyes wouldn't utilise all the players available to him and that was why we seemed like a tired team with only the same 11/12 used. We have gained 1 extra player so far with the comings and goings of players and already the team looks healthier and stronger and playing in the way we all want to see and this was available during moyes time and he never used, and this goes back to why he didn't sign a new contract as he doesn't have the range of ideas needed to be a truely successful manager (and so he had to try to smooth his way into united, pretty disloyal to everton). I think united might struggle with moyes if he sticks to form. I wasn't keen on martinez when he became our manager but even though it is only pre season I have been impressed and excited at how he has gone about his business and how he talks about the players/club and what it means to be an evertonian. I thought that getting wigan relegated was a bad sign for becoming the next manager but have come to the conclusion that the players he had at his disposal weren't good enough to implement his ideas but if you transfer the same ideas to better players who will execute his plans and play with a new freedom and energy then the wigan relegation is irrelevant. Good luck to martinez and everton for the new season Exceed our expectations win a trophy beat liverpool give the top 4 a run for their bought placements and play with style. Everton 1878 NSNO

Moyes and Man u want our Left back for around 13 million, at the moment the fans have lost their long term manager to Man u and now Moyes and Man u needs to deal with us again. The club would look vulnerable of they start dealing with Man u. Its not worth us selling Baines for 13 million or 15 million. Its not worth Man u paying 22 million for a 28 year old left back, their fans wont be amuse.

Said it before and will say it again, Man ure **** on us from a great height and I for one wouldn't cross the road to piss on them if they were on fire, if anything I'd look for the nearest thing that burns and add it to the flames!!

Loved an earlier post that hit the nail on the head. "Moyes arrived in a tracksuit and left in a Mercedes." Couldn't possibly sum it up any better than that.

Personally, I wanted Vitor Pereira as our new manager but I am already willing to eat my words and say I believe I was wrong. Martinez has offered fantastic boosts to the morale of the team and, particularly, individual youngsters. He exudes positivity which (as much as that will be frustrating as hell when we have just suffered an inevitable drubbing by weaker opposition) has me very excited for the season ahead and is the antithesis of what we have had to endure for the last eleven years. More importantly, that is what our players had to endure until now! The king is dead, long live the king.

What should Man Utd apologise for, exactly? They moved quickly to replace their retiring manager, as any other company on the stock market must. An apology is an admittance of guilt, and unless they're publically confirming that they tapped Moyes up (which would be a little odd) there's something amiss here.

I'm "arsed" about it - very much so. That feller has walked away costing Everton millions we didn't have for this year's transfers. The compensation package for Martinez could be the difference between getting another player in this summer or going without an extra body. Just on that practical level it was a deplorable kick in the teeth.

He gave a decades worth of hard work and got paid a massive salary for it...then he took the piss at the end of it.

I think that just about fairly sums up Moyes' time at Everton.
