Okay, a final stat for you. In the past 17 years, of all of the teams that have won the FA Youth Cup, only 5 have gone on to win full England caps, with those illustrious names being: Keiran Richardson, Jack Wilshere, Jay Bothroyd, Adam Johnson and Jesse Lingaard. So not only are these apparent winners progressing to the full England team at the rate of 1 every 3 years, but the quality of them is hardly earth shattering.

....before this was announced I did a bit of research and mentioned on the transfer thread.

He's not been around the Wolfsburg 1st team. One report says Wolfsburg have told him he's not in their future plans.

Very little footage of him on YouTube but he did play against United (and scored) and Liverpool in that European youth league competition.

Aston Villa were keen to take him but apparently his head was turned by our interest.

From what I can see, he looks a big lad. More Bolasie than Lookman.

Other than that it's guesswork. As with all these signings, they are low risk and potentially high reward.

Steve Walsh/David Unsworth reckon he's worth taking a closer look at, what's the problem?

I reckon this is exactly the type of player/activity we should be doing regularly. Hopefully we're now better placed to ensure future Mustafi and Diers have a proper route to our first team.
