Like Kuyt yeh?

A team that is 'trying' to get into the Champions League can't afford to carry passengers with **** all ability.

He's [Poor language removed] and got a proper attitude problem.

I'm not saying he's a great player, he's not.

But at this moment in time we're not in a position where we can afford to get rid of someone who can do a decent job for the team. I wouldn't say he's a passenger, he was invaluable last year in the UEFA Cup and should we get there again he could prove vital once more. Right now he's been asked to play out of position and is doing ok. I don't see where the problem is really.

EDIT - Oh, and no he's a LOT better than Kuyt :P (y)

Burst my bubble? Right....

Well you've certainly had a go at him on numerous occasions. Why again now when he's playing alright?

No i've not, I have ago at any players under performing.

Alright? Come on 6 league goals in a 3-4 season career for any "striker" is v.poor, McFadden had more then that and was called all sorts but if its one of our own and a youngster its perfectly ok.

Read my post and you'll see i said its not judged on tonight but over 3-4 seasons where i generally think hes poor.

He did well in europe last season because of his strength, once he came back into a Prem game, the defenders can match his strength in this league.

That makes the comments even more strange as the progress he has made over the last few seasons is fantastic

How is he underperforming though?! He's playing out of position and doing a good job, what more do you want from him right now????

Anichebe's been doing alright, just wish he'd taken the best run in the side he's had so far and done a bit more with it.

He's strong and direct, could do with not going down so easily or looking for alternatives when he gets the ball rather than just steaming towards the goal...

All in all, he'll be a handy squad player for years to come, but can't see him making the step to star first teamer... Will be back to 4th in line once Yakubu, Saha & Vaughan return and won't get in on the wing either once Gosling's a bit more experienced.

I've always given him the benefit of the doubt because he's still young but it's got to the point where he has to prove his ability now & I don't think he's got enough of it. He's always had good strikers ahead of him in the team but he had a decent olympics & then we lost all 3 of the players keeping him out of the team, this was his chance to show he was capable of producing the goods on a regular basis & to be frank he hasn't taken it.

We're still desperately short up top so he should get plenty more chances before the end of the season but if I was the manager I'd be looking to replace him with someone better. I wouldn't say he's been crap but he hasn't been nearly good enough to warrant a 1st team place. If we want to stay in the top 6 while making strides to get in the top 4, we can't afford to have average players, especially with a squad our size. We need every player to be able to come in & do well enough to keep their place & I don't think Anichebe will ever be good enough

I'll be happy if he proves me wrong but I just don't think he's good enough to play at the required level on a regular basis

I don't really rate Vic that highly any more. After his UEFA antics two seasons ago I thought he was great, but he'll never lead the line at Everton, unless, like now, its through injuries.

He just doesn't close down enough for me whenever he's on the pitch, one of the derbies excepted.

This has been his big chance for Everton and he hasn't really taken it. I'd get rid and replace him with someone younger and quicker.

But he won't go anywhere because we need him as a squad player.
