against the [Poor language removed] he looked one of our best players, he won the corner that lead to the goal, and he seemed to be one of the fastest players on the pitch.

Exactly. He showed his potencial and has done in the past.

He needs to be loaned out where's he'll be a 1st team striker playing games week in week out.

He starts banging them in, in the championship his ability and game awareness will grow (as will his price). Better to do that than just get rid of him on the off chance he becomes a top draw striker.

Correct, again.

He's 19! I bet you if we did loan him out and he got 20 goal in the championship, a host of premier league clubs will want him because they see the age, they see the potencial, all they have to do is nuture it - just look at Frazier Campbell.

And I'd chose him over Vaughan anyday of the week.

He was on for less than 10 mins, FFS give the lad a break

Read my post and you'll see i said its not judged on tonight but over 3-4 seasons where i generally think hes poor.

He did well in europe last season because of his strength, once he came back into a Prem game, the defenders can match his strength in this league.

Everyones exscuse for him, hes infact 21 in two months time.

Didn't we have a thread like this a couple of months ago started by Bainesy?

He's been doing a decent job recently out of position on the wing. Sure he's not a world beater, but he gets a job done.

Fair play, but when as he played 10-15 games in a row? Name a striker at that age who is world class and/or playing 1st team football in general?

Players get better when they play games.

But that's right, lets get rid of him like we've done with countless players his age and who've turned into good players for other teams years down the line. I mean, getting rid of Jags to let him play 1st team football for another club didnt do him the world of good did it?

I've started no other thread about Anichebe, sorry to burst your bubble pal.

Now this isnt just after tonight, but i actually really dont rate the lad, for me he just isnt anywhere near Premier League quality and doesn't have the attitude either, he looked on par with players who looked knackered after they had been on for the full game, there was times he could have chased down balls and he just didnt move.

6 Premier League goals he has since he broke into the team over 3 seasons ago now?

He's not a natural striker. He has the physical presence but neither the hunger nor the instinct in front of goal to score regularly.
He needs to find something on the pitch he can excell at or we'll have to offload him. He looks more comfortable on the wing when he has the ball, but as someone noted he's not exactly keen on going out of his way to get it. Maybe he'd be better dropping back. I've suggested before he could make a good DM. He's still young enough to switch positions and make a go of it.

Didn't see him in the Uefa last season but the bits I've seen of him this year have left me with mixed feelings. He's got the strength and pace to be a great impact sub (Uefa cup last year?), but agree that his attitude doesn't convince me. Really think the lad was born to bully defenders with that physique. Maybe we could tempt big Dunc back to Finch farm to show him some tricks if not, someone like John Fashanu or Brian Dean could give him a course on how to do defenders heads in without being a great footballer
Oh, and he's only 21 but it's a Nigerian 21.

Like Kuyt yeh?

A team that is 'trying' to get into the Champions League can't afford to carry passengers with **** all ability.

He's [Poor language removed] and got a proper attitude problem.
