Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

BOO HOO! I'm absolutely trembling here.

Wow, you really are something are you mate.

All we are saying is that there isnt any need to post pictures like that
a) in an aaron lennon forum
b) when there may be kids/people who have been directly effected by the atrocities reading

There is nothing wrong with an opinion, but there is no need for insensitivity even if that's not your intention.

I reckon we just stick to debating about Aaron Lennon in here, dunno what others think!

You know the more i think about this the more this could turn into a really great signing - what i would say about Lennon is he is a brilliant winger, pace, trickery and the ability to make up serious yards. I always felt his crossing was poor. Yet i remember a season, two maybe three years ago where he was brilliant and that was the year Luka Modric was at Spurs and playing behind Adebyohor in the hole and Spurs played a 4-2-3-1. Got me thinking maybe our system would suit Lennon, in that season at Spurs rather then lob in poor crosses his play was more intricate and players came short for him once he made the distance. If we can apply the same principle to his play he could be an excellent signing.

The second positive aspect is the counter, imagine Mirallas, Barkley, Rom, Lennon breaking from deep at you in the first wave to be suported by Coleman and Baines on either flank in the secondry attack.

Thirdly one of our problems this year has been teams sussing out if you push up on Baines and Coleman you limit the supply line, if fear of Lennons and Mirallas pace leads to midfielders or fullbacks being reluctent to push up on Baines and Coleman we may have just reignited that supply line.

All in all, better then a kitkat.

Have people not learnt yet to not right of a player so early on. Give hime time, we need someone that'll strech the play and the Good thing about him is when hes on the ball he gets you up the pitch in no time, bit like Del did

Perfectly fine signing. The precision of his eyebrow stripes indicate a character with real dedication.

Let's see how he does in the derby before we get that excited.

Another accurate post, and you've acknowledged that Bill Kenwright is a tough negotiator, despite what some on here would have us believe. Interesting listening to Cahill this morning...Moyes wanted him at Sociedad(Moyes has just lost a striker for a while to injury) and Cahill also spoke to Henri(anyone watching Sky would know that) and significantly Bill Kenwright. I doubt that Cahill was touting for a job at Everton...probably asking the chairmans advice , because, again, despite the heckling of the usual suspects, BK has an excellent reputation amongst football professionals.

In honesty I have been as critical as anyone of Kenwright. I think at key moments he failed to find the funding for Moyes that could have kicked us on. However we are starting to see, outside of Chelsea and City all of those clubs who sold up to foreign investment after an initial honeymoon period are finding there is no magical solution. Villa are in a mess. He knows the game of football very well. You only need to hear how Moyes speaks of him and how Martinez does to see he has a rather old fashioned but sensible view of how football clubs should operate and that a manager needs to be given the opportunity to manage.

He has made mistakes as we all would have done but I think he has a good vision of what he wants Everton to be. There is a stability about the club, a calmness and a pride. It will help us attract managers of a certain calibre going forwards. Increasingly where managers are not given any time, they know they will get that at Everton, and rightly so. I would hope a chairman is able to keep their heads when there is pressure around them. Too many sack managers before even a bit of fan pressure has come on. He is also a good negotiator. Unfortunately football fans tend to overvalue our players so it can always look as if we are selling players cheaply. However it is hard to think of too many players we have let go who I look back upon and think we could/should have got more for when that was negotiated.

I think the decision to bring Lennon in will go into August a little like Lukaku even if he plays well. It will be a game of poker. If we hold our nerve Spurs will blink and we have a good opportunity to get a player at a price well below what his market value might be.

Agreed, McCarthy should be the one that proves that a seemingly underwhelming signing can prove to be a masterstroke with time.

Looking forward to seeing Lennon impressing us ;)
