Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

...I'm fine with the signing, 27 year old England international with a bit of pedigree (youngest Premier League player on debut, 3 nominations for PFA Young Player of the Year etc). I appreciate the perceived weakness in his crossing ability, but we rarely hit crosses from touch line area, we tend to link with full backs and pull back from the bye line. That approach might well suit.

In every single one of these pics, he looks like someone close by has farted.

Well, at least his rating on FIFA 15 will be high, considering that he's an England international and he's from a London club...

You know the way teams have been pressing us high up the pitch this season and sticking men on our fullbacks. This is where a pacy winger like Lennon will come in handy. Will give teams something else to think about.

Don't be surprised to see Coleman getting involved in games more in which Lennon plays on the right also.

Big difference .

Lukaku and Howard came from much bigger clubs and better teams.

Pienaar's best years were in his first spell with us.

But Pienaar was out of favour at Borussia Dortmund then. Let's see... 2006-07, Borussia Dortmund finished 9th out of 18, so kind of makes your argument invalid.

In honesty I have been as critical as anyone of Kenwright. I think at key moments he failed to find the funding for Moyes that could have kicked us on. However we are starting to see, outside of Chelsea and City all of those clubs who sold up to foreign investment after an initial honeymoon period are finding there is no magical solution. Villa are in a mess. He knows the game of football very well. You only need to hear how Moyes speaks of him and how Martinez does to see he has a rather old fashioned but sensible view of how football clubs should operate and that a manager needs to be given the opportunity to manage.

He has made mistakes as we all would have done but I think he has a good vision of what he wants Everton to be. There is a stability about the club, a calmness and a pride. It will help us attract managers of a certain calibre going forwards. Increasingly where managers are not given any time, they know they will get that at Everton, and rightly so. I would hope a chairman is able to keep their heads when there is pressure around them. Too many sack managers before even a bit of fan pressure has come on. He is also a good negotiator. Unfortunately football fans tend to overvalue our players so it can always look as if we are selling players cheaply. However it is hard to think of too many players we have let go who I look back upon and think we could/should have got more for when that was negotiated.

I think the decision to bring Lennon in will go into August a little like Lukaku even if he plays well. It will be a game of poker. If we hold our nerve Spurs will blink and we have a good opportunity to get a player at a price well below what his market value might be.

I have said I like this post, the reason for that is your portrayal of BK's character which I think is a fair assessment and actually gives credit where it is due. Not his fault that he cannot magic millions but rather the state of the club from the Johnson era which left an awful legacy of debt.
