That's really not true at all mate

Like it or not, they're a massive club now

Their global fan base will eclipse ours

We have great local support, but nationally and internationally we don't compare to the likes of Man City, and nor will we if we don't start winning stuff

I think it's fair for us to be asked to justify a big stadium with our performances on the pitch first. At the end of the day, if Moshiri wants us to win a couple of pots before adding another 8k onto the attendance then that's his perogative. It's just his own money he's wasting at the end of the day

The important thing is to actually get the stadium, because it'll be huge for us, even with just the 52k
If we had a fraction of their success then we'd fill 55k week in week out. There wouldn't be a spare seat in the house for any match.

Globally they might kick on in terms of fans. But this is match going numbers I'm talking about. How many they have in far flung places with glory hunters latching on is irrelevant. Their support is utterly dreadful.

They are an excellent football team with the greatest manager since Fergie, but they are a proper tin pot outfit in other off field areas.

You know we're going to attract international glory hunters if we ever have success right?

It's a necessary part of being a big club, so I'd suggest canning the snobbery towards it

I'm not being snobby. I want us to have all them things. We need to create something that makes kids in random places want to support Everton.

My point was that global fanbase is not that relevant to a capacity discussion. It's the match going potential that is key and obviously that means domestic UK based support. Ours is miles bigger than Man City. The overseas tourist trade is only ever going to be a tiny fraction of attendees for even the biggest clubs.

Such a little word

There's no point building a stadium that's half empty every week. 52k is ok for us. If we need more we can extend it in 30 years time
