Wouldn't deride anyone for being religious mate, religions by and large is a personal choice, if a parent thinks it will instill The right kind of morality/values then go for it.

I think in the past, there has been a tendency for people to veer more conservative as they grow older.
But for the first time there might be a kink in that armour.
The people who were teens and twenties in the 60's during the civil rights protests and anti vietnam war protests are all in their 70's and 80's now.
There's a generation of grandparents there who had a radically more liberal youth than what came before.
People that saw the introduction of Roe and Brown v the Board of Education.
I think old people might turn on Trump in larger numbers than expected.
At least thats what I hope.

Well, for what it's worth, Family Guy do kind of have a point here:

they have a point but I'm not really saying the older generation have veered from conservative to liberal, more that they were always liberal and have remained liberal in older age.

Can you imagine believing that if you send your kid to school as a young boy, they might return to you as a young girl after undergoing surgery (in the school nurse's office, I suppose??) ...What kind of person believes this stuff?

It's been a while since ours were young but I recall we had to fill out a form authorizing the school nurse to give aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen to our kids when they were in school. Times sure have changed!!

Do you think it is reasonable to introduce yourself to others by stating they are deranged in some manner? Further, is it somehow shocking that the people you accuse of being deranged responded in like manner?
