His editorializing is suspect at best. I'm not sure kids in elementary school (4 to 10 years old) have access to books about hand jobs.
My kid is in a school with kids from 4 to 14 years old. There could well be books about sex ed for the 14 years olds. I'm going to go ahead and assume the 6 year olds don't have access to them. If they do, I talk to the school about what's reasonable.
I don't go on a book banning crusade meaning the 14 year olds are relying on porn on their iPhones for sex ed.
TBF I didn't get much past that.

What he's missing is that the difference is that the Republicans want to remove rights that people have.
Sure, Trump may have gay weddings at Mar a Lago, but is it really that far fetched to think that his hand picked supreme court might re introduce a ban on gay marriage?

My kid has been to drag story hour. It's fine.
Probably safer than bringing him to mass.
This guy says nothing about religious preditors.

I dont even really want to get in to the whole trans kids thing as I find it repugnant that a minuscule fraction of the population are being used as pawns in a culture war that has very little to do with the general running of the country.
Fair enough. At least that's a reasonable response.

It was just an example of a video showing a different opinion. Nothing extreme.

Thanks for at least not being a nob.

;)

Fair play, wouldn't let mine go near such a thing.

Kids shouldn't be politicised full stop, both sides do it ofc on this subject, it's almost seen as a new cool thing to have for some parents (hello Hollywood on that one), anyone pushing this idea at kids though is repugnant, let kids be kids ffs

The ads running in PA harping on government-funded illegal alien transgender surgeries are nonstop

It's beyond comedy at this point what these people care about

Make sure to never take your kids to panto

When the Republicans lose, do you think they might turn their attention to, I don't know, coming up with policies that help people? You know, try and get into power the old fashioned way

Bloody hell, talk about whataboutism.
Personally, on the trans kids thing. I'm not sure I do agree with any physical surgery before the age of 18.
I don't have a problem with medical intervention for teens as long as parents and doctors approve.
The teen suicide rate for kids who don't get the treatment they need is sky high.

But the way I look at it, Trump would like to just magic the whole trans community away.
He's vilified them and made their lives hell.

He is worried about his kids seeing a bloke dressed as a woman - I said don't go to panto.

The drag- kid fear thing is pathetic.
Yeah, and so much of it comes down to parental choice.
If you bring your kid to drag story hour and find it inappropriate, fine, bring them home, don't go again.
But as long as the drag queens aren't breaking any laws, what happens after you leave is none of your business.
It's all about personal freedom and Republicans seem intent on removing that.
I personally dont want a man in a dress telling my kid about another guy ages ago who was nailed to a cross because of intolerence.
Not that I don't place a value on religion or Christianity, I just think there's better ways to teach him about intolerance. Like explaining why it's not right to judge the guy in the dress reading the story to kids.

I have no problem with Drag Queens, i used to love watching Ru Pauls Drag Race, and i think they are amazing at what they do. But its just not for kids. I dont think that's outrageous to say.

Some parents arent even comfortable with men being reception/infant school teachers. It's sad, but thats life. It's [Poor language removed].

As for Panto, i think that is a bit different, although i see the connection. But kids that age dont even realise thats happening on stage. They see a dame and think its a woman.

I dont understand why that sort of thing needs to be explained to preschoolers.

I know parents who dont even like their kids watching Peppa Pig because of how naughty they are. At that age, they dont have the capacity or the need to understand.
