Yeah, and so much of it comes down to parental choice.
If you bring your kid to drag story hour and find it inappropriate, fine, bring them home, don't go again.
But as long as the drag queens aren't breaking any laws, what happens after you leave is none of your business.
It's all about personal freedom and Republicans seem intent on removing that.
I personally dont want a man in a dress telling my kid about another guy ages ago who was nailed to a cross because of intolerence.
Not that I don't place a value on religion or Christianity, I just think there's better ways to teach him about intolerance. Like explaining why it's not right to judge the guy in the dress reading the story to kids.

But... But... According to Trump, the Democrats are going to force children to have sex change operations at schools without their parents consent?!

I have no problem with Drag Queens, i used to love watching Ru Pauls Drag Race, and i think they are amazing at what they do. But its just not for kids. I dont think that's outrageous to say.

Some parents arent even comfortable with men being reception/infant school teachers. It's sad, but thats life. It's [Poor language removed].

As for Panto, i think that is a bit different, although i see the connection. But kids that age dont even realise thats happening on stage. They see a dame and think its a woman.

I dont understand why that sort of thing needs to be explained to preschoolers.

I know parents who dont even like their kids watching Peppa Pig because of how naughty they are. At that age, they dont have the capacity or the need to understand.

And that's all fine.
If you don't think it's for you or your kids, good for you. I respect that.
I don't have a problem with it for my kid. It's not like I go out of my way to find Drag story hour,
More that if there's something local happening on a saturday morning (and Everton have just ruined the weekend) we'll go along.
The problem comes when the people who don't respect my choice for how to bring up my kids call me a perv or a nonce or whatever.
These people also make the drag queens lives absolute hell at times.
These people are invariably conservative Trump voters and he has done nothing but pour fuel on their hatred.

I heard this earlier and though it was a joke. The rhetoric coming out of this election is off the scale. Surely there'll need to be a long hard look at this and mechanisms to stop dis/misinfo, or if Trump wins increase it.
