What influence does the VP have over the economy though?Does this economy bad news not play into trumps hands?
It's a stretch to blame Harris, but I'm sure it'll happen/has happened.

My big worry, having been around people, is that we have a black/Indian WOMAN as pres candidate. Having a gay or a jew one step from the hot seat, in addition to Harris' non-male brownness, might have been a step too far for some of the country.Shapiro would have been a good choice as well. A vocally anti Bibi Jew would have been a good choice.
I think Walz is good as well. Much less of a "politician" than Harris or Shapiro. More folksy. I think that plays here and balances the ticket
Well unless the guy in charge makes mad tweets and terrifies the financial folk. What influence does a President have over the economy?
MAGA world, which is the land of the decidedly anti-socialist/communist free market, would have you believe the President is in charge of the economy. And in 2024, if the economy is good it's because of the prior guy. And if it's bad it's because of the current guy.
It's all nonsense. And enough people are beginning to see through it.
Fwiw these will be the attack lines against him
Yeah.Good luck with that.
They seem like flimsy arguments. And how this guy doesn't appeal to the greater electorate, I mean, that's just bonkers to me.
I'm convinced this closing of the gap has less to do with the clueless Kamala Harris and more to do with the assassination attempt on Trump.Because the pundit class has wrapped themselves in self-importance and horse race commentary rather than, you know, actually educating their readers/listeners.
The announcement of Tim Walz has both AOC and Joe Manchin effusive in their praise. What kind of odds could one get on that?
A unified Democratic Party not only wins, it often leads to a blue wave.
