I'm convinced this closing of the gap has less to do with the clueless Kamala Harris and more to do with the assassination attempt on Trump.

Obviously Genocide Joe had to be replaced first, but my guess - and this is counter-intuitive, I know - is that the assassination attempt turned waverers in the very opposite direction to which most people thought they'd go. They fear political crisis and a return to the spate of assassinations of the 60s and the social turmoil that followed.

That list just strikes me as really lazy, the sort of thing where (like the Tories at our GE) they are just running through the motions. Any pick was going to be labelled extreme left, thats the default as is mentioning California as what they are like (rather than what their actual record is). The Swift Boat 2.0 thing will obviously fail given that Bone Spurs didn't go to his war, Vance went to Iraq as a journalist and 25 years military service as an enlisted man is a lot of years.

The pro-Hamas thing is the one that they'll pick up and run with (given that the media have been pumping it out anyway) but that could be dealt with by pointing at Netanyahu, pointing at Israel and explaining that this is where the road of nationalist, divisive, zero personal responsibility politics leads.
