I think we can do better than amplifying GOP’s sexist attacks Martin.

Like any candidate she has some weaknesses but also some strengths. More prosaically we only have ~ 100 days and she at least has a campaign org already set up and the only one who can use the Biden/Harris campaign contributions.

It is, unfortunately, the well-documented truth in her case. Her first two political positions were sinecures obtained through his patronage, while she was sleeping with him.

When she became the DA in San Fran she sent someone over to Brown's office to tell him he had better not so much as jaywalk, or she would prosecute him. You would be hard pressed to find anyone else who was a part of the California political machine that has a problem with Willie Brown.

This is the opposite of how the Democrats beat Trump. They would be better off running Laphonza Butler, and she hasn't a prayer. Write off the money, and run a good candidate. Run Duckworth if they want a woman, run Buttigieg if they want someone who nails every appearance in front of a camera.

Harris's flaws play right into the Republican narrative. The Democrats need to stab her in the back, and pick someone else, if they want to win from here.

Strategists should make sure KH is allowed to go off-script a bit. Trump will fling all sorts of racist/sexist insults her way. I don't think it is wrong for her to do two things: fling some well-crafted ones back (afterall, she worked for a president who literally doesn't [Poor language removed] his pants, isn't a 22x accused sexual assaulter, isn't a convicted criminal, etc. etc.) and show a bit of toughness, so long as it is genuine and doesn't come as scripted (like those cringey scripted moments by H Clinton), but also stick to policy and emphasize the moral difference between Dems and the right-wing christian fascists. This might just galvanize some of the undecided.

Of course being a woman, if she comes off as tough and effective, sexist-misogynists like dylsexicbleu and edwardcrompton will always find a way to fault a strong woman ("...she's hysterical..." "...she has no kids...", blah blah blah), but these clowns don't count as functioning members of society or this forum.

It won’t just be the blatant sexists that have their feathers rufflled.

Those two positions from patronage, if she were male, would at eorst be classed as “jobs for the boys” and as I stated earlier were fairly standard California political dealing at the time. That doesn’t make them right and to be clear I’m not excusing them, I think she made a really poor choice accepting them. Just think that they should be referred to in context of how other politicians at the same time have gained their positions and that the outcomes of such choices aren’t always a sure fire ticket to electoral success -how she got thosetwo appointments were a significant headwind in her later elections.

Isn’t the 2nd anecdote what you would want - for her to prosecute Brown if he broke the law despite him appointing her? Isn’t that exactly part of the same argument vs Trump, that he’ll appoint people who will ignore his rule breaking because he chose them?

Respectfully disagree with your last take, think stabbing the VP with 100 days to go is certain electoral suicide, think it a bit of a Hail Mary pass as it is.
