I mentioned Napoli a few days ago in this thread although I'm not sure of that's current status . A representative of Johnny's has pretty good connections with Italy so has been an area he's looking at. I agree on him leaving taking forever we've been trying for at least 2 years to move him on.

Agree with you there I think (and hear) the best we can hope for is about €4 to €4.5m but it depends how badly we want him gone as the closest he's come to going was to Fenerbache who were probably going to pay even less than that .

Come on then Sheeds, cards on the table now, do YOU honestly think Heitinga will be gone by the close of the window?.

Thing is IF he goes, will we want a replacement in or will we use the money we will of generated from his sale and what little we already had on midfield and attacking options?.

I seen drenthe on friday at a party in town

got speaking to the fella who 'minds ' him ex-doorman who i've known for a while , tell's me roy is settled down with a girl from liverpool he doesnt want to leave the city , has quit drinking been training himself hard .. and is going to finch farm tuesday to appologise personally to david moyes to try and get a move back to everton has he loves the club and is willing to be paid whatever to get a move

hopefully its true a focused drenthe would be a class signing

Hasnt Drenthe signed for some Russian club called Alania Vladikavkaz or summat?

Edit:- Just seen on Wiki that nothing came of it.

I dont think Moyesy would trust him enough to give him another chance tbh?!!. On his day though, he'd be class for us this time round with the way we have been playing this season and the better quality around him IMO!.

Cant see it though.

Would only take Drenthe if it looks like Donovan is staying in LA, we'll see but a switched on and appreciative Drenthe could be an asset, not as good as Mirallas mind, but he has pace and skill, just needs an attitude readjustment.

Not as good as Mirallas??

On his day Drenthe is a bloody freak!! Much better player, just needs to figure out whats more important..... Getting on the piss of his football career!

All that this Drenthe BS has taiught me is it's probably best to stay away fromn the internet during transfer windows.

I thought GOT was better than this, it's starting to make Kipper look good again.

Mirallas is a better player mate, sorry. Drenthe can be brilliant but is one footed and lacks the same vision and finishing ability.

So Sheeds,,, have you heard of any other deals which may be going on ???

I've been away for a few weeks and my pint with my mate has been cancelled due to the snow so not hearing much and mostly what I'm hearing is "it's all quiet " . I'm told we've got enough for one maybe two loans but no real movement . As usual I'd expect a few bits though in the last few days . I do know we came very close to a very decent striker from the Dutch league but moyes changed his mind.

Yes mate but I've been convinced he'd be gone for ages. From what I know We are and have been for ages desperate to get shut. I think the money and the wages off the budget would be really useful.

Newcastle have reportly put a bid in for winger/striker Gouffran of Bordeaux. (750,000).

Has anyone heard anything about us being interested? I only ask as hes only got 6 months left on his contract and I read we had enquired about him over the summer.

Daily Fail claims:

Arsenal have been offered 26-year-old Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff on loan as the French club look to offload his £80,000 a week wages.

Other names sound familiar?

wtf is mark hateley doing surrounded by all those world class stars?

Not sure how anybody can say Mirallas is a better player considering how little time he's actually had on the pitch. Career movement (Drenthe being bought by Real while Mirallas never really impressed in France and ended up playing in Greece) suggests Royston has more ability.

Let's not fall into the trap of over hyping Kev when he's barely played, Drenthe is a hell of a player when he wants to be.
