£25million, Jo and a Dubai beach holiday

Also have to take into account Moyes would only see say £12million or so from the £25million as the rest would go into the clubs coffers.

SO....£50million - £25mill split for Moyes and the club would be fair.

To be honest, the board would just be delighted that there would be transfer activity without having to folk out a few quid.

For that reason, you'll probably find any income transfer wise would go entirely to Moyes.

With Kirkby on hold, I think you're right. The only fly in the ointment, assuming we suddenly had a £50m windfall, would be if the club told Moyes he had £50m to spend on players and wages (minus, presumably, the saving on wages for the two former players).

But which players with the exception of Moutinho would we go for?

I appreciate some love to be sucked into this diatribe.

Myself, Moyes would see this as a major setback if we lost them both, or even one of them.

This is his train set and I severely doubt he wants it tampered with in this manner.

I'm not sure he would be cross if he received substantially more than their current value, mate. Football is partly about buying and selling, wheeling and dealing and improving your squad via that process. Prior to the days of Chelsea, it was every managers dream to sell high and buy low. I don't see this imaginary situation as being any different to that. Remember, we're talking about £50m + Jo, which probably equals a conservative £58m for two players that, if we had to sell and didn't have anyone by the short and curlies, would go for nearer the £30m mark.

theres no reason to sell yet, the economy is ****e and we have a good enough squad to whether next season

city, with their unlimited cash flow are going to try to capitalize on the fact that teams are in need, little do they know that we're perfectly used to not having any money.:P

i say we hold onto them for atleast one more season, if they do well for us their price will only go up, and i'm confident they will both do well.

Moyes -
"But I am only interested in adding players to the ones we have."

Do one ****eh!!!!

Moyes is shrewd at the end of the day, Ken. If he received a bid he thought would be in his interests to accept, he'd accept it. He's proved that with Johnson and Faddy. Of course, he did the "decent" thing and asked the players first, but when your boss asks you if you want to leave, you know that what he really means is "it's time you were off, matey".

The problem is we may not be able to refuse what they can offer. Also they may well offer the players "silly" contracts on 100k a week. We cant expect them to turn that down, and there is no way we could match those kind of contracts.

Hope we won't be forced into selling anyone. However, can see someone being sold this summer if City really are going to throw their cash around. Would prefer Lescott over Arteta tbh, but as said hope we'll be able to fend off any interest.

As much as it sounds heritical. Lescott leaving isn't a stretch. Arteta I would seriously doubt. But who can you believe these days the last people I would are the press. Lescott could fund two very decent to outstanding athletes so I can see this happening some day. I won't like it but in these dark financial times we may have to dangle some bones.:(

I think any player sold without wanting or requesting to leave, would be a deal breaker for Moyes and hed walk, whats he got to loose argueably his stock has never been so high.

I actually think this is true, Moyes hasnt said we have not received any offers, in fact he says there is always intrest in our players.
