Yes Zenit have a lot of potential, however what's against them is the sheer size of the country as well as current social conditions and brutal weather which often come as quite a shock to foreign players. Some away games are the equivalent of from Britain to North Africa in distance. Yes, they can attract top names with the ammount of money they can offer but they rarely seem able to keep them happy, and any decent player will think twice before joining although they won't neccessarily be put off

If Zenit come in for him, and the fee is in the £30m+ ballpark, he's gone. To be honest, I wouldn't blame Everton at all if they managed to get a massive fee AND reinvested it back into the team.

That money comes at a price though doesn't it - playing in Russia on plastic pitches and pretty much fading out. He won't become a better player over there, fair enough he will play Euro football but it won't be the same as what he could achieve in England or Spain.
