Would you sell Jelavic?

Talk about people jumping the gun. Some of the comments on here baffle me. I can't believe people are ready to just sell him after one bad season. This place gets more and more like BlueKipper every day.

We're not a team that can wait around for a bloke to hit form though, it's not like we've got a Dzeko or Sturridge to come off the bench and get the goals we need.

We could be waiting for a very long time as he looks absolutely appalling this season.

I wouldn't say he's had a bad season, just a poor one compared to last year.

Jelavic has scored 8, Tim Cahill scored 3 last season.

A sack of spuds hovering around the penalty area would have done better than Cahill last season, not the greatest comparison.

Jelavic is a class act that's just going through a rough spell. We've all been there. Give him time and a decent pre-season and he'll be back to our working man's Berbatov in no time.

The comparison to berbatov was always insane given they're not the same type of player but ignoring that his rough spell is now longer than his purple patch. I'm unsure as to which will turn out to be the norm and which the exception.

He't not the only one. RvP, Welbeck and Torres have all had barren runs this season.

I wouldn't get rid unless we had a top, top replacement lined up. As I've said before, if Fellaini is sold for £24m I would be happy if the majority of it was spent on someone like Benteke.

Welbeck is utter gash though, and he plays on the left half the time.

RvP's run was 12 games, a fair amount less than 19. And seeing as he'd already scored about 600 goals by then i think he can be forgiven.

Again, Torres is pretty gash.

Naming players who have also done badly doesn't make Jelavic's position any better mate.

Welbeck and Torres are both far from gash.

I wouldn't be bothered if he was sold or kept. He should be scoring more goals, and at times he slows our attack to a halt. But I think he's a better player than he's shown this year.

Jelavic has the quality - it's Moyes who has ruined him, ala Beattie, AJ, Yakubu & Saha

Moyes sees a striker as first and foremost, an advanced defender. Jelavic needs Mirallas, and 2 other players in the ACM and LW positions buzzing around him and doing the running for him. Pienaar and Fellaini just dont do this.

Leading the line, on the last defender's shoulder - waiting on through balls behind the defence and crosses from byline are what Jella is good at. He has not got this this season!

Nail on the head.

Welbeck isn't a goal scorer, so saying he's hit a barren patch is basically saying he's Danny Welbeck.

Torres has 14 goals in 78 league appearances for Chelsea. At some point, you are what you are.
