No, every day that passes makes him more and more certain to win a naval battle. They're churning out ships twice as fast as we are, and better quality ones to boot.

Agree to an extent, but with the proxies being corporate. This is as much about economics as nationalism, religion or boundaries.
Mentioned before how the dying embers of capitalism is using its trusted method of kickstarting its search for profits again.
Things have changed, I don't think it'll work anymore. Like addicts, it needs more and more to get that 'fix' which will take us to the brink of annihilation.
