Winning the league then relegation

Can we lock this thread, its making me sad that people are even considering it.

9 times we have won the freaking title, we dont need to get relegated to win it.

It's not 1987 anymore. It's a vastly different league. We haven't got near winning it in 30 years - why would we expect that to change over the next 30?

You know what other clubs think about our lack of relegations? They don't. They couldn't care less.

Tough call... I'd probably take the league and relegated as at least you can always come back up but no one can ever take the glory away

yep, i've never seen us win anything. We'd bounce back straight away anyway (winning another cup in the process). The sheer joy of winning the league would override the sadness of going down imo. Had enough bad days to remember watching us, with the biggest high beating united on pens in a drab 0-0 draw.

We didn't get relegated but it was oh so close, remember that feeling on the day of the game?

With respect mate, I dont care about other clubs, but I know that seeing Everton relegated from the league would be the worst thing to ever happen to us. No matter the cost, it cant ever happen.

We'd be back inside a year. I'd get over it. Especially having watched us win the title.
If it was relegation followed by promotion and then a league win, then the results here would be different, despite that being virtually the same scenario.

nah because i started following everton in 96, if id've voted for the wimbledon game i would have seen us win the FA Cup ha

The simple thing is, there's no where on our honours board where it sepcifies the years we've been relegated. Our list of achievements is massive, but the honours board is the one that counts most. Where we were for that wimbledon game is so far away from where we are now, at that time i'd probably have said no because we may not have come back, but in this day and age with moshiri's millions and parachute payments etc, we'd bounce straight back up with ease and be fine.
