I can see them wanting more out the door personally. Keane? Siggurdsson? Maybe even Walcott. They need to get some the older players on big wages out the club.

If you believe the rumours. The club are looking at RB,CB, CM. And a Right sided forward.
Maybe even 2 centre midfielders. We can’t have another season, where a couple of injuries and we are left with Davies and Delph playing a number of games together. Also Gbamin is still got to be s bit of a unknown at prem level and may take a while to settle in.

Personally I can't see more than 5 players coming in to be in the first team, unless we get the Europa League or we sign some free transfers as well. I don't think Keane is actually that bad, I don't think anyone would take Sigurdsson for any where near what we paid, I watched a video on Toffee TV and they had a business expert that said although we paid £45m for him if someone offered £15m it wouldn't be too bad becuase the £45m is spread over the 5 years or something like that. Anyway, it's possible we could sell him for that, someone in the bottom half may take a chance on him, if Iceland qualify for the euros and he does well maybe we could sell him.
Walcott I can't see anyone having him, he is on too much money and he is only gonna get slower, I'm just hoping we sign another RW and he is then the back up

I don’t think we necessarily need that many new players in summer, the improvement of Holgate, DCL, Richarlison at striker and even Kean to a degree, relieves some of the shortcoming in those positions previously.
Shifting the dross is still the number one priority for me. Thankfully with a number of contracts up this summer, a fair bit will sort itself out. We all know the list of players that need moving on, as well as some of the young lads who either need a loan or a call up (Gibson, Gordon the main 2)
After that, when some wages are freed up and the squad isn’t massively inflated, we will be in a position to buy a small number of genuine quality in the few positions we need to push on (CM, RW the absolute priority for me, CB and RB also needed but imo not as much as CM and RW. I actually think Richy, DLC and Kean have removed the need to break the bank in the striker in this window anyway)
So yes, I think we will spend big, the question really is will be spend smart? I have more faith in Ancelotti and Brands than others to do so but the jury is still out.
I’m still going to be judging them on outgoings

Yes. Easy 70m +

We have approx 15 players running out of contracts in the summer, which will free up a lot of wages and ease the pressure of FFP.

On top of this we will clearly have more player sales, possible one or two current big earners from the squad.

Most players cost a bomb these days so to be honest I could see us signing maybe 3-4 key players at 30m+ each

Will we spend big? Yes. Will we spend too big? No.

I think that of the players we are likely to sell, we will get 50-55 million from. If we can make up the 2-3 points needed to make europe, we will make an additional 35 million. Throw in the 30 million Uncle Al threw our way and we would have a little over 100 million to work with. Holgate's emergence means we dont have quite the same need at CB, but I think we can all clearly see we need a CM, RW, and CB. As long as DCL and Kean continue to develop I dont think we need a striker. We will probably need to either buy Sidibe or get someone else, meaning in reality we will look to bring in 4-5 players. I expect that one of them will be on a free like Bernard, saving a bit more. This means the cost would be:

RB: Free
CB: 3rd string, 15-20 million
CM: 30 million
RW/RM: 30 million

Total: 100 million, or, within our budget. Spending big. But not THAT big.

I think it's just too hard to do in one window. I think we should focus on replacing the ones that are definately going on a free, some of them are not really in the squad anyway, like Steklenburg, Niasse and Martina so arguably you could say that we may not need a direct replacement and the wages can be used elsewhere. Walcott, Morgan, Keane and Sigurdsson will probably stay, but hopefully we will have a new CB, Gomes and Gbamin will be fit, so they will be in the 2nd string. Players on big wages, like Bolasie and Sandro will go back on loan because no one wants to take them long term.
That's unfortunately how it will pan out more than likely

I would be more inclined to judge him on signings rather than outgoings.
Its very hard to shift older average players on high wages who do not want to take a drop in wages.

I am not sure it is than many
4 possibly 5
Naisse ,Martina ,Baines ,Garbutt ......................

GK: Pickford / ??? / Virginia
RB: ??? / Kenny
CB: Mina / ???
CB: Holgate / Gibson
LB: Digne /???
CM: ??? / Gomes / ??? / Gbamin / Davies
LM: Iwobi / Bernard / Gordon
RM: ??? / ???
CF: Richarlison / DCL / Kean

Weird thing is we have 3 LM players. Perhaps Gordon to go on loan or one of them to switch over to the right...or one to be sold?

I wouldnt be shocked to see Sidibe and Walcott retained.

That would leave us needing

Centre mid + Right mid starters
Keeper + Centre back + Left back + Centre mid rotations

Even then Gibson may well also be a left back option.

In short, perhaps as little as 2 starters and 2 or 3 rotation players.

I would prefer to spend our money on guaranteed first team starters ,even it means only signing 3 players for 100 m
Holgate ,Mina ,Keane and Gibson if rated should do as CBs
We need to improve the first 11 as a priority and put our present starters to the bench.
If we want Europe we need a stronger first 11 and not intentionally buy squad players

I don't see us going mad in the summer window. It seems there's a clear plan in place that they are working towards and that will continue. In terms of first teams signings I sense we will prioritise. Before outgoings I think a central midfield player and central defender will be seen as key signings. I would assume we keep Sidibe on. After that I don't foresee major changes. It may also be, the central midfield player will be dependant on people going out of the door.

I hope alongside that we can make some "smart" signings, younger players from across Europe (a bit like what Wolves have done) and we did with Braithwaite.

Keane and his HG status isnt going anywhere.

Gibson, Kenny and Gordon will not be making it here.
