But if we finish 7th we will probably get a Europa league place.

Burnley wont be anywhere near us next season, the squad we currently have is more than able to get 7th, we got 8th with crap managers.

If we make some good solid recruitment in the next few months, we COULD, maybe, get amongst things at the top, I dont mean win the league or even maybe challenge for 4th, but you know, compete.
Dont underestimate the rebuilding job Silva and Brands have to do. Koeman pretty much killed us and left Everton in a very vulnerable position whereby he retained utter tosh in the old guard who now need urgently binning off, and he sold our better players and replaced them with expensive tat that Silva will be lucky to sell and get 50% of the fee spent on them back in the club. All the while there will be an attack on the wage bill.

We cant demand Europe or even hope for it.

I do not underestimate the job at hand at all, ive said we probably need 3 windows before we can even think about making a proper fist of things. To do it in the first season would demand that we sell everybody and buy utter quality in the next few months, its unlikely, very unlikely.

I can demand 7th tho, if Big Sam, Unsy and Koeman can get 8th, why cant Silva get 7th?

Surely we could get someone to part with £22.5m for Sigurdsson? There's got to be some bellend club out there we could have over.

Agree with this. Hopefully the manager is given time to get rid of the deadwood and bring in some hungry young players, with one or two top signings. 7th is realistic still imo, we finished 8th playing some of the worst football ever seen by Evertonians and had an abysmal start to the season.

He gets time from me of course, but if he cant at least get 7th, then whats the point in even appointing him.

Tbh I'd take mid table as long as I can see the manager is trying to do the right things. The squad is a mess and full of ageing crap. If we sign some good youngsters who are exciting, playing for the shirt and attacking teams then I'm willing to take that as it's to be expected with young lads learning their trade.

Theres certainly a lof of work to do, but im expecting at least 7th, but it all depends on what state we sit in on the 9th August.

The last few summer windows we havent even built a proper squad.

This hits the nail on the head for me. And is why we need to give this manager time. You could legitimately replace pretty much anyone in our squad (minus pickford, coleman, Walcott and big cenk) and the manager is going to need patience from Evertonians to be able to do that, which is something we have not done for a few years.

Because Silva will be trying to get an ageing core of players to play at a tempo beyond them. Unless we shift them out and buy very well then the wheels will fall off at some point. His task is much more difficult than Koeman's or Allardyce's.

Wrong David, his task is the same as Koemans and Sams, to get us competing again, if we still have the same squad on the 9th August, then we have failed, im confident Marcel wont allow that to happen.

He wont be able to punt them all in 1 window, but its about signing quality in key areas.

Leicester took advantage of the Sky 6 taking points of each other & making the King Power a fortress.

For us to do anything, we need to start beating the teams above us, make Goodison a bear pit again & hope the Sky 6 share the points around.

Lads, it’s on ........

I am increasingly beginning to realise this thread should be Where will we finish under Silva AND BRANDS.
