He's going to need a few seasons to really turn this squad into something he wants. We have so much dead wood that I can't see it all being overhauled by next summer, which means we are going to need to be patient and not expect him to win the league immediately.

Ultimately, we are still a few rungs lower on the ladder than the likes of Arsenal or Chelsea, like it or not. If we can close the gap on them or maybe take advantage of a drop in form considering they will both almost certainly have new regimes in place, then I would say that's a good starting point for us.

Allardyce and Koeman had to go, but the reality is that we haven't really progressed st all of the last few years. We need a bit of patience and we need to invest as fans into what Marco Silva and Brands want for the club. As soon as the stadium turns toxic, we are doomed. It might even take a few disappointing results but if we can genuinely see a plan and improvement then we need to encourage and motivate the team, not ridicule and boo.

With a new focus and expected change of players there is no reason why we can't dislodge Burnley who will be distracted by the dreaded EL campaign and we should be able to fend off Leicester who will be looking for a new manager early on if they don't get a good start to the next campaign.

If we can manage 8th with the current squad there has be signs of (modest) improvement and hopefully the fixture list will be kind to us this time around!!

Anything better than 7th would be a bonus and require poor seasons from Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea or hopefully RS.

Could do with decent cup campaigns as well. RS have been living off them for years!!!

Brick wall - meet head

The aim should always tbe to finish first, the least acceptable should be 7th,then hope the WC has an affect on one or two teams above us and hope to capitalise on any slips

Until this transfer window shuts....I haven't a clue as to what particular strategy we will be employing....difficult to say where we will finish atm...

An improvement of one place to 7th is realistic with Burnley having Europa commitments and Leicester perhaps looking likely to lose Mahrez.

If Pochettino goes to Real and with Spurs once again having to acclimatize to a new stadium, Chelsea seemingly in disarray and even inevitably some doubts on whether Emery will galvanize and renew Arsenal there are possibilities of higher, i live in hope.

6-10 is most probable imo.

Yes, some of the teams above us have, or may have, new managers, but so do we, and a new director of football, a new board and we start off with a poorer team than all but Burnley. So, we might have problems too. I expect 7 to 10. I think it will likely take three years to challenge, perhaps even for a Europa League place.

But if we finish 7th we will probably get a Europa league place.

Burnley wont be anywhere near us next season, the squad we currently have is more than able to get 7th, we got 8th with crap managers.

If we make some good solid recruitment in the next few months, we COULD, maybe, get amongst things at the top, I dont mean win the league or even maybe challenge for 4th, but you know, compete.

Yes, we could but we might not. My idea of challenging is to be regularly competing, not just a one-off, but building a profile as a Europa League regular and improving our European coefficient.

Well, it will ALL depend on who we can bring in and punt at the moment, if we can address our issues, but its early days yet, as I say currently I have us at a solid 7th, to improve on that we are going to have to have a perfect window.
