Where was it lost?

We kept Torres, Mata, Hazard, Oscar etc very quiet today and we still would have hit the woodwork even if Jelavic woke up thinking he was Messi.

2nd goal was created in part by a £30 million player, 1st was helped by £20 million worth of players.

Space and movement of these £30 million players also helped with the 2nd goal.

If they hadn't have scored then, they would have before the end.

Thats what all the money buys you, depth, and class depth. They are better than us.

£100 million attacking force....THAT was the difference.

We will always come up short at this stage. We have good players, some very good players, but NO world class players.

Yeah this.

There's no way in hell an Everton side built for pennies is ever gonna beat a Chelsea side that costs more than us.

Never ever.

Never ever ever.

Mata was just sensational. Everytime he got the ball team S**t themselves. Hes just on another level. Probably brst player in the premiership at the moment.

Only in the last few years though. Despise them. Remember watching Bristol City beat them 3-1 in Div 2. They bought about 200 supporters with them. Would laugh my tits off if RA fekked off, and asked for his money back.

We came out guns blazing, had a couple of unlucky moments but gave away the 3 points.

Pienaar was fantastic first half!

So where was it lost?

For me we always looked vunerable between the back four and the two CM's.

Mata just sat in that hole and just ran at a back 4 which just backed off and off time and time again. Same with Ramires.

We didnt really have a cat in hells chance with Osman and Hitzlsperger in the middle there.

Heitinga was absolutely shocking, their second goal he just strolled back.... Not arsed.... He needs to go, enough enough.

However we did get at them and were unlucky at times but I just felt the area between Osman, Hitz, Heitinga and Distin was always vunerable and wide open for attack.

Stop negging this gentleman. You either play centre midfielders than can tackle and control their area, or watch the opposition flood through their space.

But we play in the present, and they are European champions, and spend hundreds of millions on players. Records and landmarks from years ago have no baring anymore.

We lost because Chelsea are a bloody good side. No shame in that, another day we would have won. The players can be proud of the performance today and just put it down to hard luck.

They swung a ball into the unmarked Lampard. You don't need to be Ronaldo to do that. Even Neville could have managed it.

They didn't bamboozle us. We defended very well for the most part and their star players will have had a frustrating afternoon. They may be better than us over the season but they weren't better than us today. We can justifiably feel that we deserved at least a draw.

End of the day we lost, they did more with the ball, when they had it. That is all you can do.

We huff and puff, and throw in some spells of good football. But in the long run, the better players will shine through.

Mata was growing into the game, Oscar looked good.

Osman is a fine player but a better callibre of player will be doing better with opertunities he gets.

Wasn't that the first time since 2008 that they've avoided defeat at Goodison?

He's taking the mick, even though a lot of Evertonians will unfortunately believe this to be a real excuse.

The high tempo to our game for the first 25 minutes was really fantastic, naturally we got tired and sat deeper and deeper.

Enjoyed the game today despite the result, onwards and upwards, especially with a lot of important players coming back.
